Glad we won but honestly, the skill and talent differential between the 2 rosters IMO is absurdly tilted in the Hurricanes favor.

In the 3rd period, the Canes would control play in the Sabres end for minutes at a time.

I see where Lindy's defensive coverage was planned as a collapsing box + (maybe) 1. But Carolina really exploited it with tic tac toe passing, movement and energy. It was impressive to see how quickly the Canes would flood the ice patch containing the loose puck and cut off any opportunities for the Sabres to clear or outlet pass the puck.

That's some solid coaching. That's good tactics. That's intensity. That's positioning. Wow.

Fun to watch and see such execution.

Ryan McLeod now has more goals (tonight) than Conner McDavid.

Bet you didn't have that on your bingo card! :D

EDIT: I don't think Mr. McDavid appreciated my comment because he just scored.

Logic dictates McLeod should get the goal, because he would be the one taking the penalty shot if a goalie was in the net.

I'm surprised we were awarded a goal.
99.9% sure NHL rules are if a player with an open net breakaway has a penalty committed against him the goal is automatically awarded. It’s to protect player safety. Same as if the hurricane threw his stick to prevent the ENG.

I always liked Tokarski during his Sabres stint. I liked him more with CAR last night. Two clear-look GA from the high slot.

Seems like another game where a team saw the Sabres on their schedule, and thought they could cruise to victory. Once the Canes realized they may lose two points, they turned up the energy, and the Sabres got caved in. All these meaningless wins do nothing but extend Adams stay. It's like the Jets winning a few games in December.

And yet, he made that play happen with his speed.
twice in that game, yes, but how often have we said that this season is my point ?
would like to see Mcleod and Tuch's speed together

Carolina was (is?) struggling a bit with a win-one/loss-one stretch right now. Last night brings them to 6-6-2 in their last 14 which for a team contending for the conference lead is a rough patch.
