I agree with the rule. if the puck goes in a fraction of a second before the whistle blows because a player jams at it and the ref feels the play is dead, it shouldn’t count. I don’t think this is that situation, but the rule has a place.

The reason Gauthier works on that line is simple, his game is predicated on not having the puck. He knows where he needs to go to score goals and he has good hands. Kakko just doesn’t make sense there
