Do you read anything else? The players are getting plenty of blame too. At the end of the day, most of the "rochester core" has been turned over and the team still isn't any good. How many times do we have to keep turning the players over until we change the coach?

This team is better than this, everybody didn't magically decide to suck. Way too many players are playing the worst hockey of their careers right now. You can't just magically drop half the team and get a bunch of guys.

You can fire a coach and hire a new one inside of a week. THat's the only meaningful change that can be enacted for at least this season.

100% agree with this.

A coach micromanages his "employees" way more than your boss does. If your department is doing badly and nobody is performing up to expectations, do you dump the whole department first? Or do you get rid of the manger whose job it is to ensure that everybody get their job done?

Nobody thinks firing Ruff is the way to magically fix this team, but it's a start. They've been average to below average for three years now. Lots of guys are playing the worst hockey of the careers right now. That's on the coach. Sure the players aren't playing well, but you can't just fire the players and get new ones.

We've changed the players, we dumped the "rotten rochester core", every-bodies favorite pincushions are gone (Roy, Connolly, Gaustad, Lalime). At some point you have to take a look at your coach. They aren't winning, they haven't been winning for awhile now.

Start collecting cash for the billboard, because we have our message that should go on it right here.

So you're saying Ruff isn't the problem right? Give me a break. It's not purely on him, but he's not faultless either, and when it comes to moving players or the coach, you move the coach. Plain and simple. Except in Buffalo, where our management is okay with mediocrity. Just as it seems the fans are.

I think you guys overstate the impact of a coach at the NHL level.

Sure Ruff has blame...he's losing.

But Im more concerned about Leo and Myers f'in up because of their own stupidity then Ruff sitting on the bench with his arms crossed or not calling a time-out.

Agreed.

But you can't go to them and say "It isn't your fault you sucked."

That's right, you go to them and say "if ya suck again, you're going to the press box. After that, you're going somewhere else, where you can piss their fans off, because lousy play is not a hallmark of Terry Pegula hockey".

And?

You do realize this is a situation where there is no right or wrong call.

Phil Jackson was famous for not calling timeouts when his team was sucking...and having them play thru adversity.

Again...no right or wrong here.

Haha ok. Maybe 15 years of mediocrity is your cup of tea but it isnt mine.

Ya cant just dump a whole team of players... might wanna look elsewhere.

First off, he should've called a timeout, but he has no idea how to coach so he didn't. Second, if Myers and Leopold are playing so ****ing bad together, WHY NOT MAKE ADJUSTMENTS?? Isn't that what coaching is all about? Instead of sending a message to his worst defenseman by benching them, he keeps playing them together when it is clearly not working.

I think you understate the impact of a coach at the NHL level. Who do you think comes up with the game plans, strategies, defensive schemes, offensive schemes etc. Do the player somehow share a hive mind and know what to do when playing together?

Question for you, do you think Lindy Ruff is doing a good job this year, yes or no?
Another question, if Lindy Ruff is not doing a good job, why have we kept him for so long?

Btw, are you seriously using Phil Jackson as an example of not using a timeout? Holy ****. This is hockey not ****ing basketball.

This x1000. If they fire Ruff, cool. But they won't, billboard or no, whining about him in every post or not.....

Meanwhile, every shift Myers got with Erhoff today, made Erhoff worse. Myers is a BIG problem right now. Fixing him would be huge for this team. I think he needs a really good stay at home as his partner to get him comfortable again, which unfortunately isn't something we have. Maybe when Regher is healthy?

they started the season together, and played until Regehr was injured. Myers sucked then too. This idiot coach needs to quit giving minutes to players for shoddy play. I was flabbergasted to see Leo rewarded with 23 minutes for his -3 performance.

No...clearly Ruff isn't doing a good job this year....we're losing often. I'm not saying people don't have the right to want a coaching change. I'm saying the pitchfork mentality is annoying during a GDT. Don't we have one or two I hate Lindy Ruff threads for that? ..

It kind of makes it hard to take anyone serious when they are just pushing agendas and finding tic-tac things to ***** about.

Myers wasn't horrible the first few games.he has been the past 3 or 4 tho.

Phil has 11 rings
Lindy has 0

I think a style of coaching can be labeled as unsuccessful if you can't get the job done in 15 years.

It's time for a change...

No. Not if you don't have the team.

Regehr-Myers was not playing the way we need a top pairing to play but Leopold-Myers has been truly atrocious.

No..he hasn't played like we need him to all year....just wasnt the trainwreck that he's been the last few.

We've had exactly one cup worthy team here in the last 15 yrs.

Good coaches make weak rosters look better, and while our roster isn't cup contending, it's better than the record that we've had these past 5 years. 2 first round appearances and no appearances past that. That's downright pathetic.

Sure it is.
