What? When has he dove or begged for a penalty today? And what does this have to do with Ribeiro?

Ellis and Ribeiro's flopping is the only weak calls I've seen.

You can't seriously think that the first Ellis penalty was a good call. Sedin hit him in the numbers and then did just as much if not more than Ellis in their scrum. That was a JOKE.

Ribeiro was stick-lifted by Hammer on the double minor. **** hurts, but it's not a penalty.

I can see where you're confused. Ellis was the one who did that.

Sbisa went down after getting a cut to the face, I'd like you to show me a play where a player got cut up high and didn't go down. I think you'll find it's a normal reaction.

Both did that. The difference is that one was actually penalty :)

The flailing of the arms does seem to be a pretty standard way to attempt draw a call these days.

That happens all the time, refs take the guy who threw the last jab/slash to control the game, do I agree with it? Hell no, but it happens all of the time. It's stupid "game management".

Ribeiro penalty was a tough call to make live, I bet most refs call that unless they were really dialed in on their sticks.

Shoving the linesman could have gotten Ribeiro tossed and suspended. There are missed calls in every game.

For Ellis, he got the last punch in and that's what the ref called. He was willing to let everything before go but once they were both up, Ellis gave a punch to the head of Sedin and the ref drew the line.

Sure the stick lift wasn't a penalty, but the Preds have received some pretty weak calls. Just have to deal with them as they come along.

You don't make a call then. The jab was marginal at best. Do you really think that would have been a penalty if it were Burrows or Horvat on the receiving end? What about the early game hit on Ribeiro by Virtanen?

Yeah, embellishment on Ellis.

I can't believe you think that Sbisa dove, ask a friend of yours to high-stick you in the face hard enough to draw blood and see if you can avoid "flailing your arms." :shakehead

Difference:

Preds questionable penalties were the result of referees making borderline calls.
Canuck questionable penalties were the result of Preds flopping

Yes and no. Mainly the players, they get chances but fail to finish.

Ah, they fail to finish and because of his coaching style, they aren't able to pile up the chances they need to finally finish, got it. I'd like to see the Blues play the same style that the Stars do. They've got much better defense and goaltending, so it might fare better for them. It looked like they did it for stretches tonight and it served them much better than I've seen in previous games when they were playing more of a prevent style. In fact, most of the chances the Stars got were when the Blues stopped playing that way and backed off.

That's fine, and I get it. We had a game against St. Louis a few weeks ago where we got 4 or 5 calls in our favor; including one where Pekka left the crease to shove Backes and he received a goalie interference call . My argument is that "punch" was hardly a love tap. In my opinion, if it weren't a Sedin, it wouldn't have been called. Disagree away!

Did you read what I wrote? They make those calls to "control" the game. I'm not suggesting it's right, but it's pretty common. It's not just star players who get those calls.

What about that hit? Beautiful hit. I guess Forsberg could have gotten an instigator if Virtanen didn't drop his gloves first :P

Run and gun Hockey gives Hitch a stroke lol. They have opened up some this year, mainly from the defense. They can be a night and day team some night.
