0-3 in the Sekera era. Jets 5, Carter 2

Time to stealth tank for McDavid. This team isn't making the playoffs and doesn't deserve to.

Yep, this team is still not the same team we had. Our winning streak was going to end but our teams in the past would not have responded with a losing streak.

Positives

Lewis playing his way back onto the top line.

McNabb sticking up for a team mate.

Nolan/Clifford.

Carter's line.

Negatives...
Losing is one thing, but losing while getting pushed around, the other team running Quick and taking runs at the Kings players.... now multiple games.... how about you guys grow some balls and fight back?

I've stopped worrying about Kings making the p/o's this year. In fact imo, if they did, they wouldn't go very far. By just being content to watch the Kings for the rest of the season, has put my mind at ease and lowered my b/p. Life will go on, DL will solve the problems, and fans will once again return to the fold.

Something will have to change on the road with 12 out of 20 games left outside of LA. They still control their own destiny, so that's something. What's also still the case though is Kopitar still has as many goals on the road as Stoll, and half as many as Richards.

Pros:

4th line, even andreoff looks sharp.
-Lewis.
-McNabb.
-Sekera's growing comfort with and without the puck.
-Carter

Cons
-Every vet except Doughty and Quick, less for lack of production (that sucks too, obviously) and more for lack of focus in defensive play and compete level. Jets are big, but our last few games we went straight at them and played heads up. Not so much today got pushed around the same way we embarrassed the flames a few weeks back. 4 games in 5.5 days with travel from SoCal to Winnepeg probably contributed but we haven't bought ourselves any excuses with our play this year.
-Kopitar, we need more in every way down the stretch.
-Brown, had a couple of hits, not excruciatingly bad, but we need more from the captain tonight...been good lately though.
-Regehr had his worst game in a Kings uniform and it cost us from start to finish. Playing hurt is admirable for it's symbolism, but it hurt the team, as well.

We need Martinez back to be Greene's safety valve. I would go away from Sekera-Regehr forever somehow. No suggestions how though

Sums it up nicely.

You guys done crying yet?

We're fine. Same ol' song and dance, just with a couple different steps than before, as always.

This team will be fine once Kopitar pulls his head out of his ass and shoots more. You can't have your #1 center not take a single shot and expect to win.

Weren't you the guy guaranteeing the Cup repeat? What broke you?

Yes, he was guaranteeing it.

I just wish both TV and radio announcer teams just STOP ****ING MENTIONING BROKEN STICKS AS IF THEY WERE LITERAL BAD LUCK. STICKS BREAK BECAUSE OF IMPACT, JUST LIKE HOW BATS DO GET BROKEN IN BASEBALL.

If you guys wanted to real REAL BAD LUCK, then you're only asking for the Rangers to desecrate THE Stanley Cup again. :shakehead

I'm just sick and tired of this defeatist attitude the LA Kings have been picking up recently. How can the LA Kings earn the legitimacy of West Coast hockey when they are too busy wasting their time, indulging in defeatist attitudes? They're in perfect position to legitimize.

This team will never be the type to retaliate and start gooning it up. Lombardi has built this team as a carbon copy of the Red Wings. Calm, collected, and only retaliating when someone goes WAY over the line. I don't know where some if you got the idea that we're this big bad team. That's never been the case.

As to the game, whatever. I don't even care anymore. There's just so much wrong with this team that's not going to be fixed this year. I would love it if they made the playoffs and gave someone a scare, but that's about the ceiling for the 14/15 LA Kings.

Thanks, Voynov.

Kings just seem to always end up with high priced vets collapsing down the stretch.

2011 Smyth
2014 Richards
2015 Stoll, Greene

Thanks, Voynov.

Problems go way beyond Voynov. If we are going to give Lombardi quite a bit of credit for the Cup wins (and we should) he deserves quite a bit of blame for this current squad.

Dog ****...pure unadult-rated Schizofrenic Dog ****. #Kopi #Regehr #Doughty

Doughty was a -3. Regehr was too.. if you can't rely on these guys....

I didn't see any of this one. was at the clinic (gawd, what a horrorshow. grown man next to me in tears just about).

it's similar to how I was picturing the game, just looking at the updates on my phone. I still think we'll make the playoffs. would be nice to see DL make another move but I think if this roster plays the way it's capable of we can get to the show and do some serious damage there. coming off an 8 game win streak, we were bound to crash. the 1-0 loss was a hard fought game, the ducks game we had in hand, and then it sounds like tonight was pretty poor. that's 1 bad/terrible game in an eleven game stretch.
