“It could go to $9M… Sign Knies first and see what’s leftover… because he’s going to get offer sheeted.”

I'm all for discussion but this is the age of our D core.

Rielly 31
Tanev 34
McCabe 30
Carlo 28
OEL 34

I don't see the purpose of signing Knies long term to 8-9M. The defense will need to be completely rebuilt in 3-4 years and I don't see any prospects in the system capable of playing.

Sign Knies to a 3/4 year bridge at a reasonable cap, and give him big money when the Leafs retool in 3-4 years time. Cap over the next few years is what matters, we have a short window.

I’m just saying players have said things and then done something else.

They all talk about how much they “love” being leafs, but it never showed in the contracts.

These guys love Toronto because we will overpay them with low expectations.
Sure but your example is wasn’t a good one it was far from the point you were trying to make

And what impact do you assume they will have on NHL revenues ?
Honestly more than people think as NHL teams still rely on attendance for revenue. Unlike NBA where they rely more on TV and broadcast deals.

Fair point but not sure whatever the tariffs end up being will effect hockey fans going to games in the markets that contribute most of the revenue.

Leafs, Habs, those will be fine nomatter what but it is markets like Winnepeg, Calgary, Vancouver, Utah…that going to feel more

He’s still a pretty damn good two way player if you haven’t noticed
Not top line player doesn’t mean he sucks.
I said he is at best a 2nd line player and would be ideal on the 3rd line with the Leafs. How is that saying he is not a good player.

Like won’t you think he would be amazing on Leafs 3rd line?

I’d like him with Matthews and Knies tbh 3rd line sure just not sure we can afford that luxury

I don’t Canadian markets will suffer much. All have pretty competitive teams and rabid fan bases.

At least I can tell you that you are off when it comes to Vancouver as the increase in tickets prices are already a problem. And thats before the tariffs.
