Early impressions are that they should have just given Dries more playing time and not bothered trading for Studnicka. This is why it's crucial to have a farm system whose talent you can be confident in. You save assets.
I would be pretty happy if they just moved on from the Studnicka and Stillman experiments quickly

Especially with Dermott getting healthy and the Bear acquisition

Also Burroughs >>

That was an incredibly dumb penalty from Garland.

We just had a 5-on-3. Gotta be more aware than that. Selfish.

Crazy how much commercials in hockey this year are pushing peoples minds to betting/gambling, it's getting a little much imo.
Kinda related but it's also how I feel about Netflix pushing a lot of Dahmer and other serial killer stuff. Not that Netflix is straight up promoting murder, but you just wonder what this barrage of messed up messaging is about.

Finally got a working stream. Missed half the game. Is Nashville bad or is Vancouver just dominating?
Both.

It's not like the acquisition cost with Studnicka was high that they have a ton invested there...but i feel like a few games is probably a lot bit too soon to "move on" from that "experiment".

I also don't think Stillman is an "experiment" at all. He's a very deliberately acquired piece, to bring some physicality and toughness to our otherwise small and/or soft blueline (outside Schenn). Particularly in that bottom-pairing role.

I don't love Stillman or his work as a Canucks blueline all that much. But he is serving a sort of purpose. Going to be really interesting if/when Dermott is ready to come back. We've got a lot of bottom-of-roster defensive depth, and can't play them all at once. Unless we've got a bunch of other injuries, which seems likely. Based on history.

That kind of stuff has always been popular, like a morbid curiosity. Criminal Minds had 15 seasons of messed up storylines.

Bear id say is better and is playing physical that said this team needs a few that will do that

I’m going to be that guy and say they literally need to trade Rathbone or someone else because they’ll have 9 NHL D within the week.

There is no WAY Rathbone’s agent is letting him toil more in the AHL.

I don’t mind Stillman as an 8th D. Honestly. But I don’t see more than that in his game. He’s paid like a bottom pair guy rather than a depth guy
