Priceless opening night win against the Leafs, Subban with 3 pts, and Captain Patches!

Millard: is this. Different type of lose for the Leafs?
Kipper: I really believe it is.

Only in Leaf land is losing differently a good thing. Hahaha

Wish we had a good coach so people would stop saying we'd be nothing without Price. Yes it's annoying

The good
- DD...yep, I hate him too, but he was creating chances and almost scored a nice one.
- DSP, I heard he came in out of shape? He was the quickest one on the ice today and had the most poise
- Patches, had 2 nice goal and a nice chance but aside from that he wasn't spectacular, nor was he bad by any means.
- Fleishman, good first game, not on the scoresheet but was good defensively and had a nice breakaway he couldn't score on.
- Subban, 3 points, played a flawless game really.
- Price

OK
- Galchenyuk/Eller/Semin...one of them had a goal and a post but they weren't that great outside of that
- Beaulieu, great 1st...2nd and 3rd he wasn't too noticeable in a good or bad way
- Plekanec, great start but then a bad penalty and wasn't too noticeable

Bad
- Emelin, outside of hits, he was mostly bad. Can't carry a play or help offensively.
- Gilbert, bad giveaways, bad passing. Broke up a great breakaway though.

3 stars
Price
Subban
Pacioretty

So ugly but I'll take it. Desharnais with 2 more minutes of ice time than Galchenyuk is a good start to the season.

Not Pretty
Lots of work to do.
Need a coach that can teach more than ONE breakout.
Our best players were out best players
Talent beat the Leafs who clearly had the better game plan.

I think Subban might lose one of the assists, Markov`s shot looked like it hit Eller.

We always say that the habs are lacking top end talent...
Price, Subban and Pacioretty are all top 5 at their position and the difference maker.
Now if we can develop Galchenyuk to that core that would be amazing.
