So Jonathan Marchessault is the best Quebecer by a majority of votes (52.06%). Now who’s #2?

Once again,

Vote based NOT on who will have the best season this year, but rather which of these players added to a "vanilla" team would yield the biggest positive result. Poll will be open for 48 hours before moving on the next poll.

Criteria for inclusion: Doesn't have to be born in Quebec, but must have spent the majority of their childhood in Quebec.

Letang's usage probably needs to start going down because there are definitely cracks in his game and he's not the guy he was in his prime but it's kind of hard to not vote for the guy who scored more than 50 points playing 25 minutes a game and was a +13 on a cruddy non-playoff team at age 37.

It probably says more about the competition than him at this point.

2 - Kris Letang
3 - Philip Danault

This is very obvious. Please don't f*** this up.

Samuel Montembeault is also definitely a better player than Marc André Fleury at their respective stages of their career, and for what it's worth, just had a better season than Mike Matheson despite what their statsheet would tell you.

Man WTF? Quebec used to have so many top-tier players. Once upon a time you could have iced a team that could have challenged for a gold at the Olympics.

Now you couldn’t even ice a playoff team.

I like Drouin better than some of these guys listed, but I know it's one year and he's played with serious talent. Hed been really good though.

Was just thinking the same.

What happened?

Just goalies alone had Brodeur and Roy.
Because we live in a mentally that every kid is good and equal. Every kid is treated equally by playing them the same ice time, no powerplays, no PKs, because all kid needs to be happy at the end. If not, daddy will come down and have a chat with the coach. We dont teach anymore to earn those ice time, we cant coach kids to get their head down and work harder, etc.

Also, regions tend to have more ''elite'' teams means worst competition means less development when you arent challenge when you're an elite talent.

Back in the days, you had 1 elite team per +/- 150k population. Now almost each city needs to have is own ''elite'' teams so the caliber is diminished.
