Trade call coming, but it appears LA is about to acquire Kris Versteeg.

Have heard it is Zykov and a conditional fifth for Versteeg. Not confirmed at this moment.

So trade is:
To LA: Kris Versteeg (RW)
To CAR: Valentin Zykov (RW), conditional 5th RD pick
No salary retained.

Per @lakingsinsider on Zykov/conditional pick being return for Versteeg. Another detail: Condition based on LAK playoff success & GP.

Meh, have to see what we gave up, should be a good complimentary upgrade for the moment, will have to see.

#LAKings are closing in on Versteeg. As I tweeted earlier, unless last minute change, deal is for prospect (AHL forward) and late round pick

Sigh. I guess the cup is ours?

Can't wait for everyone to ***** about this too.

Gives the Kings another option in the bottom 6. Can't have enough depth for a long run.

Zykov had a lot of promise coming out of his draft year, but he's really stagnated offensively, meh season so far in Ontario, definitely below Kempe, Mersch, Brodzinski on depth chart for forwards IMO, think this deal is decent since it's a late pick as well.

While it isn't shocking, it does sort of mirror the Mckeown trade without the big pick. It is a little surprising they would part with him. He still looks to be a potential bottom 6'er with good scoring touches.

Delano again keeps the band together (no roster player) and yet our prospect depth plummets.

Our forward star prospects are...Adrian Kempe and...and...

Of course, there has to be a Philly connection because that's the way we roll.

Columbus is going to feel neglected.

Not sure if you're including Zykov in star prospects because he wasn't, growth of Mersch made him expendable, he hasn't progressed like organization would have liked.

Zykov's been injured with a hernia and an infected elbow. Hardly means he hasn't panned out.
