I ran a WJC pool here for the first time last year and am back to start it up again with just a couple weeks until the start of the tournament. I have invited back those who participated in it last year, and have 8 returnees. I plan to make this a 10 person pool again this year, meaning there are 2 spots open!
This is the typical pool where you will draft 6 forwards, 3 defenders and 1 goalie. ONE point will be given for every goal and assist. For the goalies, TWO points will be given for a win, and an ADDITIONAL POINT will be given if the goalie gets a shutout. If there is a tie in the end, the tiebreaker will go to whoever has more goals.
The tentative start date for this pool is Friday, December 14th. This is when I hope to randomize the order and all people to start making their picks. However, the clock on the picks will not start until Saturday at Noon EST. This is a tentative start and may be delayed one day depending on things but it will start no later than that. As said, I will randomize the order in which everyone picks and we will move on from there in a snake format. I am going to enforce a 6 hour clock for the opening 2 rounds. Depending on the pace, after that I may lower the clock to 4 hours per pick. After this time is up, anyone can skip the person who is up and message the next person to keep the draft moving. The clock will be off from 12am-8am EST meaning nobody can be skipped during this time. If you will have trouble making your pick in this time, feel free to message me a short list and I will make the pick on your behalf. If you are constantly late/missing your pick, I will not hesitate to find a replacement.
Please notify the person after you when it is their turn. Also, if you pick someone who ends up not attending the WJC due to any reason, we will have a replacement draft at the end. Picks for this will be in order of how early they were drafted (Highest player drafted and doesn't attend will get first replacement pick for example). If you select a player that does attend and just want to change your pick later because you changed your mind, this will NOT be allowed.
