Sanford is a big 2-way forward with size and some skill. Can play up and down in the line up. Played a while on the O'Reilly-Perron line but usually plays on the 3rd line, however Berube seems to circle back to playing him next to ROR if he wants to shake things up quite often. He can have stretches of games where he looks like a bonafide top 6 forward, however he also has stretches of games where his offensive game totally dissapears. He's a good option for a lot of teams 3rd line. Scored in game 7 of the '19 cup final.

Blues roster is quite deep on forwards, so Sanford could be the odd man out if Kostin makes the team and/or Tarasenko isn't traded. That could make him expendable at 2 million AAV (while we still have to sign Thomas).

PIT would be very interested. But I’m not sure what we’d offer.

Good (but not great) prospect or a pick?

I think the Blues would probably take a 3rd for him at this point. Cap space is more a priority than the pick at the moment. It sounds like Neighbors may have a shot to make the team (according to The Athletic article today), so between Kostin and Neighbors, Sanford is probably odd man out.

Mikheyev for Sanford is a decent base. Similarly aged rentals. Mik can play both wings as a top PK option with speed, Sanford brings more physicality.

Lateral move though and STL probably prefers futures. Value around a 3rd.

not a bad prop, but like you said, STL prefers futures/picks. Moving Sanford is as much about opening a roster spot as it is saving a bit of cap

Neighbours isn’t beating out Sanford.
