Frankly, this one doesn’t annoy me as much as the Flyers loss because we totally gave that one away. This one we couldn’t quite get control of the game.

We didn’t score on any of our powerplays, and they scored on three of theirs.

One of the biggest failures of the last few years IMO. Right up there with Chiarot-experiment and Marchment-departure. A real shame.

Offense by top-6 except Reino is the problem. It starts with Barkov. Watch him through the game and he only has a few spurts of true play, the rest is coasting. Yesterday on several sequences, including defensive positioning in front of Bob, he just let the Detroit player take a whack at the puck or reach… didn’t go take his guy out. It has spread to Matty and Swaggy and Benny even.

I think they’re drawing the same conclusions as we are: “amazing that we’re still second in division without trying”. They’re trying to earn free points.

Hey Maurice and Barky: that attitude never ends well. You’re cheating and it’ll burn you if you make the playoffs. Time to stop f***ing around. When you can’t put away the likes of Montreal and Detroit and Philly, you’re already in deep shit. You’re gonna start losing fans too. Hope you’ve thought it through.

Missing Ek is our biggest issue. PK immediately better when he is playing, and the other Dmen instantly don't have to play above their heads. He truly is a difference maker and he takes a lot of pressure away from the rest of the D corps.

Verhaege is the Reinhart of 2 years ago, countless posts and great opportunities missed. We need only 1 of Bennett, MT, Barky, Verhaege and Reinhart to play a bit closer to their potential and we win these games since lines 3 and 4 are doing their job.

The league needs to do something about the opposing stick pinching under the arm on hooking calls. Refs got fooled twice by DET. 2 PPs less against the hottest PP in the league would have made a huge difference.

Kudos to Marco Kasper, guy had a pretty good game

Defensively eh, wish we stuck with A Boq or more Bjornfot to see how theyd do, feels like the pairings change every night even before injuries

Also while Bob had some bad games last year and i worried if he even had another playoff run in him, hes def worse (or more inconsistent cause hes had some stellar play) this year, wonder if he had single beer in the partying and it destroyed his routine

Until I get other data, I’m forced to conclude that Barky/MT/Verh/Benny not producing is due to mental attitude (desire) and not health.

The stick pinching resulting in fake hooking calls is ridiculous BUT a sure fire cure is not to put your stick in the midsection, OR if it happens and the guy pinches your stick, immediately let go. Immediately. Yesterday they didn’t.

The fact you think they took February off last season negates your whole post. Something like this is so easily fact checked before you say it, so you should.
Spoiler alert, they want 9 and 2 and carried a 3 game win streak into the first 3 games of March to extend it to 6.

I feel that our last solid no frills win was the Carolina game back at the end of November. Even when they're winning its been tough sledding or eeking our shootouts.

I know they beat Utah 4-1 last week but two empty netters padded the score.

I'll be at the game tomorrow and i get to go on the ice after the game. I expect nothing less than dominance against a mediocre Ducks team
