OK, I’m wondering what my list of 10 ten Bruins that I’ve seen in my lifetime tells me about me as a fan. And you…..

So name your top 10 - for WHATEVER reason. You like the style, the skill, the personality, whatever.

One Rule: To make it interesting list cannot include Orr, Bourque, or Bergeron. Every list will have them, that is if you are old as dirt like me.

My list in no order:

Derek Sanderson - Offensive and defensive asset. Total nutjob. Think Georgie Best of hockey. Would have been a mega STAR in today’s world.

Terry O’Reilly - Guts, effort, no quit. None. Reason talented players with no drive piss me off so much. So much fun to watch fight.

David Pastranak - So talented, so quirky. Looks to me that he loves life and hockey. I like him, he makes me smile.

Adam McQuaid - I do love nasty mean defensemen. A lot. That maniacal grin when he’s fighting. To quote Bob Wilson… “oh my”

Cam Neely - Power forward x2. Frightening player and fighter. Epic goal scorer. Terry O’Reily passion. Good human being to boot.

Lyndon Byers - See Derek Sanderson. Much less talent but could fight. Used to give truly epic quotes. And that uppercut??????

Al Secord - Did I mention I like nasty power forwards? Just as happy to score a goal on you as he was to one punch you in a fight.

Kevyn Miller - Did I mention the nasty mean defensemen. Got a lot of shit here early in his career which was f***ing dumb and I ranted on here about it a lot.

Milan Lucic - See Cam Neely. Not so devastating in the goal scoring but he scared the shit out of opponents just like Secord and Neely. Double threat.

Andrew Ference - See Kevyn Miller. Often got lots of unwarranted shit board that I ranted about a lot. Smart guy - I admire intelligence. And I’ll always love him for the 2011 glove malfunction and that devastating fight in Dallas when we had that epic game of four fights right off the bat among an onslaught of goals. Loved that game.

Jonathan — My first favorite player. Tough, hard working, tenacious and undersized.

Leveille — Was crushed when he had his aneurysm. Fast, tough and skilled.

Neely — Probably will be on everyone’s list too. For obvious reasons.

Poulin — Really made me appreciate the effectiveness a defense first forward could have.

Dave Reid - Quietly professional and hard working guy.

Krejci — A guy without top end speed or size, but was a pleasure to watch how he made others better.

Looch — It didn’t matter that I was about 20 years older than him….if I could play in the NHL, I’d want to play like him.

McQuaid —- Team first guy, who embraced his role and did it well.

Dave Christian — Miracle on Ice was one of my best childhood memories….was so happy that he was Bruin!

Oates — So good, so smooth and smart.

no particular order:

Neely - we all know. Should be included with Orr/Bourque/Bergy exception.
Muzz - Just loved the big slow sniper type
Allison - Just loved the big slow playmaker type
Axelsson - No one worked harder or played smarter
Boychuk - Destroychuk/Mantruck.
Ference - so underrated, there has never been a better teammate.
Paille - perfect 4th line/pk guy
Leach - my step-dad (Habs fan) *hated* Steve Leach, so i loved him
Ted Donato - only B to sign an autograph for me after a game in Vancouver
Looch - just loved his Looch-y-ness. hate how things have turned out

In no particular order..

Brad Park
Randy Burridge
Adam Oates
Cam Neely
Brad Marchand (Can't believe nobody's picked him yet!)
Terry O'Reilly
The Chief

PJ Axelsson- hard working, smart, Swiss Army knife type of player.
Charlie Coyle- puck possession monster
Johnny Boychuk- God could he truck people. And that Johnny Rocket shot of his...
Daniel Paille- hands of stone but what an excellent fourth liner
Steve Leach- not the biggest guy out there but one of the toughest.
Danton Heinen- Axe 2.0
David Krejci- an absolute wizard with the puck & master of slowing the game down
Bob Carpenter- switched from a scorer to a defensive forward, not an easy change to make
Kevan Miller- hard hitter who could throw. If you f***ed around with Killer you found out.
Ray Bourque- built like a bear he could hit, pass, defend & shoot and did so at a hall of fame level.

O’Reilly- Heart-The only player in the history to be in the top ten in scoring on heart alone!
Lucic- Tough as nails and could play
Espo - The man
Neely- Best Power Forward ever
Middleton- his nickname says it all
Gilbert - so fun to watch
Ratelle - No one was more gifted with class
Park- So much passion and heart as a Bruin
McNab - very under rated and gave it his all
Pasta - Electric, Charismatic and a Game changer

Honarable Mention: Linesman, Poulin, Crowder, Marchand, Buyck ,Pederson,Horton,Cashman,Jonathon,Thomas,Reggie

Thinking back over the years

Lucic - Perfect Bruins player, legend who had to go waste his legacy in one drunken night. A real shame, but from 2008-2014 he was the epitome of a Bruins

Pasta - Best goalscorer of my lifetime, and only been getting better despite the team around him getting worse. He really is special.

Oates - Everything about him was just so smooth. A professional center who made everyone around him better. Imagine him and Pasta on the same line, yowza

Krug - Dynamic talent in his prime and a good guy to root for. He completely revitalized their powerplay when he came up, and how can you forget the absolute tear he went on when inserted into the playoff lineup due to injuries in 2013 - even when everyone was healthy they couldn't dare sit him down.

Thomas - Polarizing guy even before his political turn, but I was always rooting for him to get starts over Manny Fernandez or any other traditional style goaltender they'd bring in to compete. Timmy was a fighter and what more can you say about him after the 2011 finals?

Sturm - He was just pure excitement. Good play, good goalscorer, #1 RW on an average team or good #2 RW on a deep team. He made the Thornton trade less bad by coming in and being a solid dude and solid player. One of the things that makes me sad is how he missed the cup year. He was such a big part of our rebirth as a franchise so getting injured then traded as a cap casualty right before they finally won was a shame.

Savard - Dude was just a wizard with the puck. After Oates he was the best C I've seen in a Bruins jersey in my life. Sadly also missed the cup, though he was still in the organization and got his ring out of it.

PJ Stock - I was like 13 or 14 when he came to Boston, and he had some of the wildest fights over the past 30 years, so I can't help but have a soft spot for PJ.

Samsonov - He looked like he could've been what Pasta became if not for the wrist injury. He's like the hockey Nomar for me. So much talent and promise as a rookie in the late 90s, but injuries crippled a HOF career into him being a journeyman

And funnily enough Don Sweeney - the solid veteran presence on the defense until 2003. Always was my favorite defenseman back then.

Park
Peeters
Neely
Allison
Thornton (when he wore #6)
Chara
Lucic (before his issues became public)
Kessel
Reilly Smith
Pastrnak

(HM Horton, Seguin)

EDIT: didnt see the Bourque stipulation

McNab - my first game jersey, bought during my first game
O'Reilly - I still remember the girl up in the corner balcony with the Super Terry sign, and the 5,000 teenage girls with his jersey (almost always home white)
Nifty - incredible player, best hair comeback in hockey, Nilan should trip into a wood chipper
Jay Miller - he'd fight everyone, so the stars didn't have to
Oates - how Harry didn't win a cup after being gifted such a perfect fit in Oates is shameful
Neely - friend at work had the same calcification thing as Cam, only on his back
Pederson - great all around player
Linesman - wish we had him his whole career
Lucic - bully, shit disturber wrapped into a top-6 player
Marchand - got to love a little fella who can upset that many people
