Here we are, playoff bound. Who would have thought we would do as well as we have?

Every team has a weakness going into the playoffs; most teams have more than one.

So the Devils need to stabilize the defense, sounds easy, but it is not; we need to shuffle the pairings in the last eight games to see if we can get better combinations of players.

We need to mentally get out of our heads that this team starts slow. Attitude adjustment, come out as if we are behind at the dropping of the first puck.

On paper, we have a great first unit for the PP, but they are not producing as such, focus, make it fun, and start scoring.

Tonight is a fake playoff game. It is the fu-king Rangers. We are in our barn; keep them out of our net. This game will show what the Devils have for a playoff run.

We can do this, this, being beating the Rangers. .

I get that we're the younger team, likely have a much brighter future than the Rangers, and that getting back to the playoffs this year is a major step in and of itself, so basically a lot of what we're getting for the rest of this year is gravy on top of an already wonderful return to relevance and prominence.

Pitiful time to face them. The fact of the matter is our NJD just don’t match up very well with the truly elite teams in the East. Were skated circles around by NYb last game. Took three tries to beat TBL and didn’t even look like they belonged on the same ice as FLA in Miami not too long ago.

I don’t expect much, other than Shesty to embarrass Mack Black, Gallant to embarrass Ruff and Laf, Kakko and the newly signed Heetal and his shrewd deal to all embarrass #86, #63 and #13. And Kane and Tarasenko to both embarrass our newly acquired Swiss Casper. Trouba will also embarrass our soft and passive D. I expect nothing but passive hockey from the NJD and a dominant affair for the NYR.
