Team is the same. It’s just that they have a top 5 PP, top 5 PK, paired with one of the best defenses and goaltending in the league.

The slow starts are a core thing, no one is going to deny that now. These players just don't get up for the majority to start games on time. That being said, the roster also f***ing reeks compared to what this roster had potential of being because the GM had a hard on for size and so did most of this fanbase.

The 2017-18 team was extremely likeable. They gave complete effort every night. This group? Meh. Some nights they have it. Some they don't. Some they don't seem to care.
 
I’m done watching until a trade is made. I’m not going to torture myself anymore and I’m sure people are sick of hearing me whine about how shitty our bottom 6 is anyways . I’m so done with Haula Tatar Bastian Dowling Mercer . All useless and painful to watch . They being absolutely nothing to the table . Hopefully we still make the playoffs and Fitz actually makes a move before it’s too late

It's horrible .. it is about time they found a sniper for Jack and Bratt. Palat ain't it, and I guess they don't feel Timo can pull it off. It's somewhat anemic offensively far too often. Fitz!! Do something!!
 
This team has not won 2 games in a row in a month. They did this shit last year too and never recovered and fell flat on their face.

Tom is really becoming the cancer killing this team with his "patience".

They are pretenders until they get some legit sniping talent. We will get bounced in round one this year.

I mean this roster is absurdly overrated but blame the dumbass GM. Also, the obvious expectations both teams had helps in this regard. Whatever the 17-18 Devils did was gravy, this team was expected to be good and playoffs at a minimum after giving a first for Markstrom

I wonder if Lanie would have similar production, if he was here right now. Couldn't be much worse...

Palat isn’t good, I just don’t know how much extra juice a difference winger with that pair actually makes. The issue is center depth. Our depth centers are half as productive as our depth centers two years ago. The guy they let walk from that group (Boqvist) has more points this year than Haula, Dowling, Lazar combined.

We will see what next week brings and the rest of the season. The way things are trending I’m not sure Tom’s job is safe if they end up getting swept or go out in 5 in the playoffs.

He should have some heat on him for sure. He failed the organization at the center position and with his inability to find a sniper for Jack and Bratt.

The issue is they lost a ton of speed and what made that 22-23 team amazing in every facet of the game, they went for a slower and more physical approach but all the players they acquired either blow ass + too slow to make a difference or somehow the dual combo of ass + way too slow. It lands at the feet of Fitz being a hyperactive GM, you can tweak your roster based on certain things but being that emotional is never a good thing as a GM.

Team has looked horrific 2 of the last 3 games against actual good teams between this one and the Vegas game.

I figured the score ended 3-0. I don’t know if I’m happy we scored a goal or more annoyed we gave up 3 more non-empty net goals after I turned it off.

Haven’t beaten a good team since Tampa on January 11th. And the last before that was Carolina in the first game after Christmas. We had two OT losses in a row against Florida and Toronto right after the Tampa win and had an uber soft schedule after that where we still managed to not go NHL 500 against those teams.

Vegas, Dallas and Colorado are the only 3 good teams we’ve played since January 16th. And we were completely and utterly outclassed against both Vegas and Colorado. Vegas much more so.
 
And I bet they lay an egg against Utah.

Just not sure if it will be an embarrassing 5-2 loss or a 4-3 (5-3 with empty netter) loss where we’re trailing by 3 goals at one point in the game, only to come back and almost tie it but just fall short. Like that f***in joke of a Buffalo game at the beginning of the month.

It’s a line where two guys are probably going to finish with 90+ points. Let’s be honest there probably isn’t that many more goals to squeeze out of the line by changing out the third winger.

Center depth is more important and that where it needs to be juiced.
