Faceoffs only matter on special teams + empty net since possession is absurdly vital in those two spots.

Matter is a strong word lol. Winning a faceoff cant be a negative; so while I recognize the statistical significance isnt there (from what ive seen), they are a nice way to add to a competitive edge

Itd be nice if Jack won 55% of his faceoffs, but he doesnt lol. We could use someone better than Haula to help alleviate Nico of every important faceoff; but thats a small ask for another day

I'm kind of indifferent when it comes to the team this year at this point.

They haven't shown me they'll do anything until the end of the year. On the other hand, they could get hot at the right moment and go on a run. Who knows? It's not like we aren't used to being disappointed.

Let's see what happens. I have 0 expectations at this point. Worst case I'll be a bit disappointed again. Best case I'll be glad with what they've done until the end of the year/the playoffs.

It’s not a negative, just overrated because it’s only situationally important and basically random in when it ever directly leads to a goal (ie you score without losing possession at any point)
