He only had a secondary assist tonight, but I want to give a shoutout to Mercer.

He did all the little things right: forechecking hard, breaking up passes with an active stick, and being an absolute menace on the PK. Big part of why we won so convincingly tonight.
Yeah, Mercer was good in preventing passes and making pressure. He was in inch away in the end of the game to make a break away against standing opponent. Good game from him.

there wasn't a 5 minute major in any of those games

Because they weren't utterly controlling those games with some kid on the other side acting an absolute fool. They owned that game and taught an idiot kid a lesson. I'm not worried. There was never a moment of doubt in that game and it allowed Timo to do what he did. Not that I think he was even trying to do that.

I imagine if that kid ended up hurting someone in a game we had total control of we would be asking why no one let him have it.

Can that 4th line play 10-plus minutes a game? They're looking solid out there. Bowers showing some speed.

They played 10 tonight. Granted against an awful team but I trust Tatar to make things work against good teams as well.

Not the point, but if you think L'Heureux learns anything from that, you're not familiar with him

lol He might be the biggest psycho in the league

I've said it before, I'll say it again (idk how many times I have to say it). I never agree with players being dumb with retaliation penalties. It will always get called (against this team). You respond by doing the same thing to them.

I feel you're misunderstanding what I said. I never said this isn't a good team. All I said is, dumb play like that can kill them against a good team (Preds are trash).

Mercer has really stepped up his game this year as a whole. His skating looks much improved from last year and he's finally realizing his potential defensively. I also think he's been more dangerous than his point totals would suggest, looking like the two way impact player we though he could become.

Well that's fair, yes. But if nothing else he should know he will at least face substantial push back to his shenanigans.

I know agitators are not as common these days but boy, seems you forgot how they work lol. They aren't deterred from that whatsoever. They will keep doing it (maybe until it starts hurting their team, like their stars getting injured)
