You asked for examples how this rebuild was going & cited 2027. Never mind the fact they just engaged in rebuilding in a serious way.

Here’s the best example. Dubas has secured 29 picks over the next three seasons. That’s essentially 4 draft years in 3 (draft is 7 rounds long). That’s excellent work.

Another example is the pending fire sale over the next few months. No more nonsense about competing with this core. It’s game on. The logo finally came first over the name on the back.

These things take years, not months.

Next steps. Continue to clear out big contracts. Rakell could be moved at the deadline. Pettersson as well. Jarry is either traded or bought out after this season, though there is a scenario whereby he comes back next year as Blomqvist’s backup.
