Would you feel better if Mtl goes on to win cup?

No. I really don't care what they Habs do. They lost to a team they should of beat, that's the only thing I'm concerned with now.

They aren't the 2012 Kings. It's not happening.
I think the OP means that at least it could mean we could convince ourselves that we lost to quality.

It’s very difficult to accept than when the games mattered, we couldn’t beat an AHL level team two years in row. Especially after making excuses (which winners never do) of “we caught Boston though. We caught Washington”.

Yeah you said it better then me, just looking for a way to feel better.

Lol why are we even talking about this as if its even a remote possibility?

Montreal wouldn't have even made the playoffs under normal circumstances, they're terrible.

I know exactly what he means. Like I said they won't ever win so it doesn't matter.

This is a joke, right? Yes, the Leafs stunk and lost to the Habs...but that team was on pace for less than 90 points in a full season...wouldn't even have made the playoffs in a full season...they will be lucky to take the Jets to 6 games, let alone beat which ever team they face after.

Indeed. Losing to them says a whole hell of a lot more about us than it does about them.

I guess the question is what hurts more, being exposed as pretenders, or realizing that good opponent or trash opponent, our core will never get it done.

Realistically, Winnipeg spanks Montreal like the bottom feeder they are. Then Winnipeg gets blown up in round 3 because they are not that good either. In the end, the scale of this failure will look even worse than it appears today.

My opinion is that the Jets were the best playoff team from the North. Edmonton is way too easy to shutdown. McDavid relies heavily on skating room and they have no depth. The Leafs are the Leafs. Montreal has a severe lack of talent. The Jets are far from favorites to win the Cup, but I think they're the best this division has to offer.

It isn't possible so no. They were full value for beating the Leafs but they need the Gallagher, Perry and Weber of a few years ago and the Suzuki, Caulfield, Romanov, and Kotka of a couple years from now. Don't have near the talent right now to go deep but the Winni series should be interesting.

The worst team in the playoffs wins the cup? The same team that we destroyed repeatedly in the regular season?

No I wouldn't feel better, I'd feel worse. If that happened, the dubas apologists would use that as a reason not to fire this clown. He's already capped out and ruined our team.

I normally do feel better if the team we lose to goes on a run... in this case, absolutely not. My preference is that they get swept, dominated, destroyed, eliminated.
