Would Matthews make Team USA at World Cup?

Highly unlikely because if Matthews were eligible for Team USA, it would mean Eichel, Larkin, Gaudreau, and Galchenyuk would all be eligible too.

I don't know if Matthews will make the U23 team, but you better believe the NHL will push for his inclusion. They dreamed up that team to market its young stars and you know they don't want to pass up a chance to market the #1 overall pick from Arizona.

An NHL rookie? Not a snowflake's chance in hell....Larkin and Eichel on the other hand (assuming no Young Gunz squad ). Why Not?

Pretty bold to say that there's no chance.

I would say it's doubtful but depending on what kind of WHC he has here, it's a possibility.

not the US big team, but NHL is a business and surely he would go to the young NA team. I doubt they will have their nr.1 pick and just say ''eh, he stays out''. You have to build hype.
