The IIHF in partnership with the IOC, NHL and NHLPA announce the first ever World Ice Hockey Olympic Summit.

10 teams per tournament.

Men's Olympics

Women's Olympics

Men's U20 IIHF Championship

Women's U18 IIHF Championship

Bring the NHL (as partners) to help grow the game and advertise is.

Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Hamilton to host all four tournaments simultaneously.

Bronze medal games could take place on the same day at the same venue

Gold medal games the next day same venue...

Women's junior 11 am

Men's junior 2 pm

Women's 5 pm

Mens 8 pm

Give the Women's games as much coverage/hype as the mens games. Perfect opportunity to grow the game through the adversity of this year.

You say one of the aims is to mention that the women's tournament should get the same attention as the men's and then completely undermine that by putting it in the piss break slot.

Running all 4 gold medal games on the same day is a bad idea (not even considering one of these events has never existed).

Drop the fictional wU20 and hold the mU20 and women's gold medal games one day and the men's gold the next day.

Holding the women's gold immediately before the men's gold is the best way to make sure it gets no coverage.

Fixed to make it the u18 Women's.

Crazy that you shit all over my idea and suggest some type of undermining of the Women's game. Yet you suggest they are in the "piss break" times lot. Cool attitude. I rotated them through on a single day. The reality is the Men's game is more popular. Putting the Women's games with the Men's games makes it a day long affair. I for one would watch them all.

Put them I different venues if logistically it works. The point was for a TV audience anyway.

It's really not that hard.....if there was ever a time for these organizations to do something good for the game and for the fans, this would be it.

excellent idea but Cologne, Prague, Bern and Stockholm instead of Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Hamilton to host agree on 11am, 2pm, 5pm and 8pm though

What about their actions the last few years tell you that this would not be hard for them?

I understand staging two cancelled tournaments, but at this moment the Olympic hockey tournaments are not cancelled. I don't see why they wouldn't go ahead as scheduled in China, even with the men's tournament rendered pointless.

My point is, nobody is going to watch the women's event if it's on right before the men's event. Audiences will use that opportunity to do other things until the main event.

There's a reason why women's grand slam tennis events are held on the Saturday and the men's on the Sunday.

Nobody will watch the women's event if no it's on right before.

That's exactly why the doubles finals (which nobody cares about) are held before the singles finals.

If you want to shine a light on women's hockey then putting it in the literal shadow of men's hockey is not how you do in it.

Piggy backing on the audience men's hockey brings in is a good idea, but if you want eyes on the women's event don't put it in a timeslot nobody will watch it.
