What's your thoughts on them? The moment they pop up on my TV, I usually cringe. Especially the Kane one, where he looks so disinterested. Even the amazing ESPN hockey theme music doesn't save them.

It's like night and day, between them. Very solid.

Two things I find amusing about the Roger's commerical...

1) Of course this thing is being marketed in Canada as something where ownership of the sport itself is at stake.
2) No mention of "NA" or "Europe". You would think the two teams that are going to make this "the best tournament ever staged" would be front and centre in the marketing.

Apparently the NHL can't even bring themselves to suggest that "Europe" or "North America U-23" might "own hockey."

Very revealing. Embarrassed by their own gimmicks.

I always cringed when in the Canadian ones they say its about pride and then they cut the U23 team logo then the whole who owns hockey ones are terrible too I mean 3 words Miracle on Ice sounds terrible. The American ones are if possible even worse.

If team Euro wins the world cup what nation will they have their parade in? Could be Brussels, Belgium home to the EU. But there is not one Belgium player on the team.

And where would the team North America parade be held? Whatever country they pick the other will feel slighted. How bout Mexico?

I hope one of these teams wins. So we find out.

This tournament sounds more ridiculous every time you think about it.

are some people really not getting this you can tell it was on purpose. Come on. You can't really think, after watching those 5 or 6 clips before that, that Kane's disinterest wasn't on purpose/planned

Watch the video above it is a commercial for US soccer. This is what pumps a fan up for a tournament.
And if Bettman was running the FIFA world cup USA would be meshed with Canada and Mexico as team north America. Disgraceful.
There should be Slovakia and Switzerland commercials chanting I believe that we will win. Instead of the nonsense we have now.

However, the point was that the commercial is pretending hockey fans on both side of the Atlantic are totally into the 2016 World Cup. Now who's pretending that the IIHF WHC is a big thing in North America anyway?

A Tournament is a Tournament. You either like it or you don’t. I like it!

I like the Bergeron one the most because he sells it the best. He's just good and not awkward in front of a camera. I think about his NHL 15 commercial too.

They're very hit or miss, but the McDonagh one is one of the better ones too, even if some of them irritate me a bit when the joke is that "Reg" (a substitute for the ESPN non-hockey watching market they're selling it to) doesn't understand anything about hockey. It's a weird way to drum up interest.
