They are in KHL for a reason, players that don't make it to NHL stay in KHL ...

Sorry, but Finland wouldn't scare anyone with those KHL players ...

Face it, Ruotsi >>> Suomi

I fully admit swe was better than Finland in a gimmick bs tournament - never said I didn't.
Playing in the KHL doesn't mean they're worse than some AHL guys and washed up veterans...

Yes, you can always tell yourself that when you fail it doesn't matter ...
You're not actually even trying to counter the fact that Finnish Dmen playing in the KHL are better than AHL younglings...
Seems like you ran out of arguments.

If any team and I'm looking at you Finland, thinks they have players in the KHL that could make a difference, it just goes to show how far they have to come to get to the top. Since I don't follow the Finns in the K, who are these stars anyway?

I'm sure you can research all this by yourself.

Apparently some cannot read that four of the eight teams, not just Canada, cannot bring their best players.

Apparently some think arguing about it on the internet, and then telling everyone how they aren't watching is more important then enjoying the best on best tourney

I guess the same goes for the Olympic gold winning team of 2006, Team Sweden? After all, one of their difference-makers was a defenceman from the second tier of the Swedish league: Kenny Jönsson.

Clue: They are much better than Zetterberg and Steen, who couldn't make team Sweden

What poor excuses, seems he more or less got the ones he wanted, Marjamäki wad supposed to complent the 4 initially chosen NHL:ers with 3 more , and they got Jokipakka and Lepistö who were 2 of top 3 on the poll here, the only exception was Pokka instead og Hiettanen :

KHL or AHL doesn't matter much, many AHL:ers are better than KHL:ers, and AHL:ers are more used to the small rink so it might even be that they were prefered.

It's doubtful that swapping in 1 KHL defensive players for 1 AHL:ers would make any difference that would be noticeable in this tournament...

In last Olympics you had neither Koivu, Barkov and not some other center too , and you talk about Pokka vs Hiettanen ? :sarcasm:

It's best on best in the sense most of the best players in the world are there. But it's not a true international tournament because not every player is representing their country.

I'm not sure if this rambling is an answer to me or just rambling? I must investigate further.

The answer is Zero.

Worldchamps had 4 KHL guys and the defense was better against the good teams.

AHL fringe guys like Pokka are just outmatched... Bring near 30 KHL vets like instead of these kids. The Finnish D looks like crap against Russia who have almost no forecheckers.

To be more specific: Pokka+Lindell -> booted -> bring 2 of kukkonen/jaakola/hietanen (the old cronies)

Ahhh, once again not directly replying. Fair enough. If there was actually a best on best tournament going on I would greatly enjoy it.

the game on NHL ice and on european ice is very different.

There is a best on best going on, and you are not enjoying it, well so you say.

There is no tournament going on where each national team can select its best. Hence, there is no best on best. Your feelings or your fictional dialogues do nothing to disregard the questions that you refuse to answer. The same questions that you won't answer because they clearly convey the idiocy of the position you feebly support:

Can team Canada select the best Canadians? Can team USA select the best Americans? Can team Russia select the best Russians? Can team North America select the best North Americans? Can team Europe select the best Europeans?

Canada vs Russia on Saturday night. Best on Best. Another chance to build on the great rivalry. Can Ovechkin finally get one over Crosby? Can the Bob steal the game for Russia. Russia's Defense actually looked pretty good today. Should be a great game.

I will be watching a best on best by my standards, a Classic Canada Russia game Saturday night.

You will be not watching a best on best by your standards, a Classic Canada Russia game Saturday night.

I'm not bothered by the fact that your wordsmith game is denying you the opportunity to watch and enjoy.

By "wordsmith game" do you mean facts? It is funny that you are scared to answer the question, since it rips to shreds your feeble attempts to cling to your indefensible position. The facts are that five of the teams could not select their best, rendering this tournament not a best on best. Anyway, since you like to quote me but not answer, I will ask the questions you are too scared to answer again:

Can team Canada select the best Canadians? Can team USA select the best Americans? Can team Russia select the best Russians? Can team North America select the best North Americans? Can team Europe select the best Europeans?

Great interview by Ovechkin today. He's seems ready to get revenge in this best on best as were his words. Might be last time he has a chance to beat Crosby heads up. Can't wait for the game
