It's so weird not seeing a world power like Russia not make it to the quarters. I don't follow international tournies much, but when was the last time a major country didn't make the medal round?

Last year? :) Or did the USA make it. Sweden had a bad time too one year but I dont recall if they made it to the QF.

Sweden only finished 7th, 4 years ago. Still made the quarterfinal though. Since then Sweden has 2 bronze medals and one silver medal.. so it is about time that Sweden gets its 8th Gold Medal :)

Latvia is in. Not Germany, Russia, Ukrane, Austria (all of which were in the Olympics)

Where is Belarus, and how did Japan and Denmark get in ahead of them? Was the 2002 Olympca a fluke?

well it's as true as it gets. A team of wusses. Started when he stopped taken in one of the best national team scorers in the mid-late 90's who was also a great presence on the team (Hentunen). Now that Hentunen is reinserted he is picking up where he left :)

Hehe well I just couldn't resist making a comment.. ;)

I think Finlands luck will turn very soon though. Maybe even this year..
