they really should have planned this game to start at Noon Local time (9PMEST) rather than an hour later, they should have figured it would have been Canada-USA and it would have only helped try and sell Women's Hockey in North America, the US Men's Quarterfinal game is at Noon local time so it is not like it is to early

I'm looking forward to this game, but the timing is terrible. I would prefer if it was three hours earlier or so. I hope that the game lives up to some of the best Canada-USA games.

Agreed the time is terrible. 11:15 in eastern time zone is a joke.

Hope the US can pull one off after losing last two gold medal games. The women have been far more entertaining than the men's games.

Agreed on the poor choice of start time. Considering it was very predictable that we'd see Canada and/or the US in the Gold Medal game, you'd think they would have planned the start time to be a little more convenient for North America.

Should be a great game again. Probably the hockey game I was most looking forward to watching in these Olympics.

These 2 teams have such a weird history. Canada is going for 5 straight olympic golds (4 vs the usa).

The usa has won something like the last 6 world hockey championships and 4 of the last 4 nations cup.

Until I see Canada actually lose in the Olympics after 24 straight wins, I’m not picking against the champs.

You can compare this with other sports frequent showdowns:

One side routinely wins despite fierce battles. Like Boston-Montreal before 1988- I’ll believe it when I see it.

Team A won once, but Team B has won the rest of the time save fo that exception. Like Penguins/Capitals.

Also a little bit like Yankees/Red Sox: is this going to be a breakthrough where one team bursts through that brick wall like 2004 or is this going to be a rerun like 2003?

USA wins easypeezy. Jokes aside I think USA has better coaching and depth. Canada has better goaltending. Marie-Philip Poulin, Rebecca Johnston, and Meghan Agosta need to be shut down if USA wants to win.

Brutal scheduling. The whole tournament they have had a 10PM EST start time. No reason to move to 11PM EST. On a weeknight that one hour makes a huge difference

For the first time, I dont really care who wins. Canada wins and its great but the US was so crushed the last time, I wouldnt mind seeing them win for once.

As long as its as good as the last game, I'd be thrilled.
