Post-Game Talk: Woll Wills Leafs over Oilers | Leafs Win 4-3

I’ll likely happen and unfortunately I think they would beat Florida…..and we don’t need the Cup going north of the mason dixon.
Honestly, I think it will depends on Vegas. If both teams are healthy, it is going to be a battle.
I do think the team coming out of the Pacific will be in the Cup Finals as Central is going to be a bloodbath.

Compared to 2021 when the Leafs were ahead, Edmonton took several steps forward as contenders and experienced a lot of post season success along the way. Their stars play with a serious edge and they have that urgency. Leafs don’t feel like they’ve really grown at all despite glimpses here and there.
Their stars are actually proven stars….we still don’t know if the Leafs stars can even play. We assume they can’t but they get another chance to show us. 8 yrs 52 games of meh.

then that just means expanding the line's thickness, then what happens if they are a few inches off of that? Basically then when do you draw the line and say "this is where it is no longer a goal". Can't just say blatant because wtf does that mean.

like it or not, that call is made regardless of who it is against, we were on the good side here but plenty of times in the past have been on the wrong side of it.
Its very simple. If no official can tell in real time as the play is happening if a player is offside or not, then it probably means they were close enough to the redline that they were onside. If there's a offside challenge and you replay the video at normal speed and you can't easily see that player being offside, then they're considered onside.

If a player is actually offside then you should be able to easily see it at normal speed just like the officials call players offside many times per game without any video replay required to see if that player is offside or not. Any offside review that requires you to slow down the video to frame by frame to tell if a player is offside or not means they're not offside.

Joe saved our bacon for sure, I've always had belief in him and now he's half of maybe the leagues best TANDEM

JTs line was strong mostly, certainly the Leafs best line

If only line3 had some finishing ability, line 4 has to find whatever they had again

Leafs need a top line dman more than they need a 3c, Morgan needs to reset himself cause how he's playing just ain't working. No physicality, no puck handling, no offensive instinct nor defensive acumen.

All true. But the problem is that they looked the same as they have in recent games.

PP clicked, and Skinner kinda stunk. He might be the downfall of the Oilers in a few months.

We already know how good Woll could be.

So the takeaway continues to be, the goalies have to be stellar for this team to win.

Not a recipe for success.

I wonder if vegas is taking bets already how 34-16 are going to be absolved of everything by Leafs think tank post playoffs

Edmonton is scary bc they have TWO players that can win a series on their own.
And playoffs is about special teams and they also have one of the best PP in the league.

They just need solid goaltending and will go far.
They need average goaltending. Those that laugh at the Oilers for having "suspect D and goaltending or an easy path" fail to realise that the Oilers beat the teams they should in the playoffs, have been to a conference final and were a win away from the Cup with a broken Drai.

I wish the Leafs could have that resume

Am I the only one that wanted to reach through the tv and slap Berube for having Nylander on the ice at the end of the game with Willy standing around waving his stick at people? I just don't understand putting him on the ice for any defensive role.

I love it when Woll goes into beast mode. Saved the Leafs bacon again tonight.
Yet it was Mitch who jumped out of the way of a check that nearly led to the tying goal in the last seconds of the game

He did not say that. No jokes??
Said it's always a hard challenge playing against the Oilers and we know that coming in here. I thought we stuck to our grounds, did not force much, just played our game.

Nothing outlandish I just hope that is not their game cause it will be a quick death in April if it is.

I did a double take, for sure.

Florida won't get past Toronto. They might even lose to Ottawa if the Senators take third in the Atlantic.
The Leafs may not win three playoff games this year. The O/U right now would 2.5.

They gave 30 games to learn to play hockey. Who knows maybe it’ll click but it’s not looking good after the first 8 yrs and 52 games.
