Not really surprising.

From Washington Post:

This year, the WNBA and its teams still are expected to lose around $50 million, according to two people with knowledge of the figures, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the league's finances.

How much impact will merch of rookies like Clark and the Aces Martin make?
I'm sure the windfalls from the increased ticket and merch sales are at least somewhat offset by several teams renting bigger venues for big games and by the league's ongoing push to improve travel conditions for players.
