did you see the game? austria is without their top 3 forwards and their best defensemen, so don't expect them to be too good...

For sure, I know that you haven't a lot of good players, to be right Austria take a great pression to Italy during the game. But for Team Italy, due to the Austrian's defeated, is a lost chance in order to win the match. Italy played well and Austrian scores was made from individual mistake of the Italian players. Take also into consideration that Team Italy had some problems with the airplane and arrived in Minsk the night before the match.

On a side note defenseman Mario Altmann who should have been the leader on the blue line for Team Austria at the WJC was suspended by the austrian hockey federation because he was not released from his school for the WJC

Any idea on why Adreas Nodl isn't playing for Austria? Other USHL players (Ogleznev (UKR) and Vidmar (SLO)) are playing, but not Nodl. This seems surprising since Nodl is a fabulous player currently leading the league in scoring and the other 2 have 5 points combined, and are scoring in the WJC. Why is Nodl not playing?!?

He did not follow the invitation to play for Team Austria. Word is he wants to stay in Sioux Falls and improve his chances to get drafted. Same with Spokane forward Michael Grabner and Guelph rookie Rafael Rotter.

Italy outclassed by Belarus. Diego Iori received 10 minutes fo misconduct. Before he was looking for a fight with Charnaok. Iori is an explosive forward who could become a great scorer, but has to learn to play both ends of the rink. But this season he's too nervy. In Seria A he was stopped one month ago (and he's still suspended) because after an irregular gol occured ti his team he thrust down on the ice a linesman. :shakehead
