For Goonies

BAP
I find bap not to .....fullfilling really, theres no exciting games it feels the same game after game. being able to watch your teammates fight someone after a hit or just tempers flarring.,or what about the computer calling a fight against you its always me calling for a fight .I find the facewashing when calling for a fight is sutible after the play but when im skating down the ice with my target in front of me I should give him a tap on his pants/leg telling the guy you want to fight not a
facewash. Also make the rival games more physical (Toronto vs Ottawa / Montreal vs Boston) should be more wild not the same pace the last game was. Would be nice if the computer would pass it around in the offensive zone more.

OTP
What is up with the first person fighting!! I swear nhl 99 had better fighting. what Id like to see is the 2k fighting would be a CHANGE or back to that meter fighting from 08 I think it was ???. Also I like how in the games between whistles it shows whos the leading scorer and it shows how many points they have would be nice if they showed the tough guy of the team showing how many career hits an fights youve had that kind of thing an how many hits/fights hes had this game. give the tough guys some credit. Would be pretty sweet if after a fight you won you try to spark up the crowd an team like Chris Neil.

Please EA do something about the lesser known national teams rosters. I've been playing with the same made up Ukrainian goalie for the past 9 years! I guess this means you need a KHL license, but still you could put a bit more effort even without the KHLers. I think out of the entire Ukrainian roster they have right now, maybe 4 of the guys are real.

The Latvian national team has been a weird mix of semi accurate and fake players for as long as I remember....its really frustrating when it's clear that they havent done a single damn thing to any of the international teams for 4-5 years. Using 'Gavrilovs' as the Latvian goalie when there is a perfectly fine professional in the KHL is annoying.

Get the real national jerseys, or at least make them look somewhat close. Try to get KHL/NCAA teams. That would make me happy.

One of the biggest flaws is prospects/development system.

They need something like FIFA 13 has, the ability to hire scouts with an internal budget.

Then on a giant map like FIFA 13, you can choose which country you can scout and for how long. The countries would include,

Australia
Austria
Belarus
Canada
China (maybe)
Croatia
Czech Republic
Denmark
Finland
France
Germany
Hungary
Italy
Japan
Kazakhstan
Latvia
Netherlands
Norway
Poland
Russia
Slovakia
Slovenia
South Korea
Sweden
Switzerland
Ukraine
United Kingdom
United States

And there would be realistic potential. Like majority of NHL players would come out of the United States than Japan, but Japan's version of Anze Kopitar can be generated in the 8th year of a GM league.

After that when you draft a player every offseason (based on his potential) he grows and gains weight. I'm sick of seeing all these players in '13 that already are 6'6, 6'9, 6'4 and 240s+ at 18, LOL. Next they need absolutely retool their database of players, FIFA 13 has great names for players if they come from either Italy or South Africa. Some players I got were named Georgio D'Alessandro from Italy and Efan Sfhanku from South Africa.

Next thing I love about FIFA's development includes how much time they got on the first team, how much time they get on loans, and how to balance that out. Just make it more hockey related, how much they improve in juniors for project type players while better prospect probably could develop better with time in the NHL instead.

Also they need to add many more leagues,

USHL and NAHL
ECHL
Mestis (Finland II)
KHL (Russia)
VHL (Russia II)
MHL (Russia CHL)
1. liga (Czech II)
NLB (Suiss II)
2. Bundesliga (Germany II)
Erste Bank Liga (Austria+others main)
AL-Bank Ligaen (Denmark main)
Get Ligaen (Norway main)
Extraliga (Slovakia main)
EIHL (United Kingdom main)
HockeyAllsvenskan (Swedish II)
Asia hockey League

All these leagues would totally boost ultimate team by a million percent.

I have a feeling aside from a few slight enchancements/tweaks the major stuff on NHL 14 will be customization. It's be a neglected area in the series and it makes sense to give that to us now before the slate is wiped clean on next gen consoles and NHL 15.

Also for BAP/EASHL/OTP add more stats to the powerplay when I play as my playmaker I set up others but get no credit on the powerplay only the goal scorer does.. PPA, PPP should be added into the stats/career stats. PPP% 5/10 50% so in 10 powerplays you have 5 points.
It would be nice to see when your recruiting players for your team same with the PK if you could have that stat I think alot of players would play more defensively to make there stat look good. For the PK stat it would be like how many PK youve killed out of the total then gives you your percentage like the faceoffs. 5/10, 50% PK kinda like that would add abit more to the game an your skater, along with recruiting would be nice to see someones stat on how they do on the PK, would make it interesting recruiting and seeing the players PK% or PPP. maybe players will start playing there position more on the pk an stop rushing up trying for a SHG everytime they get the puck. you could add pk to unlocking boost aswell ( kill 25 penaltise to unlock +3 defensive defenseman boost),or (Have a PK% of 75 over in 10 games to unlock +3 defensive defenseman boost)something around those lines. would also work for the PP could be shooting boost, passing boost, awareness another one is Shot blocking this should of been already added to look at someones stats an see they are good on the PK 90% and have over 100 block shots in there career of 50 games (example).

(PPA, PPP, PK then the %, an Shot blocking) .

/****. Also I know it'd probably be extremely RAM intensive to sim all that, but I'd like to be able to check on my CHL/other junior players mid-season. I want to know if a guy I have down there is tanking it or tearing it up. It'd make it more fun than just watching guys with the same potential just arbitrarily jump after the season.

Something else I'd like to see is variance regarding overalls mid-season, especially with goalies. Guys' ratings should drop and elevate to reflect real life hot and cold streaks. I want to see Kessel bounce between an 84 and a 91 like it seems like he does in real life. Goalies should slowly deteriorate based on their workload and durability rating.

Ice time. My assistant coach shouldn't be starting my goalie 82 games. I can't believe we're at NHL 13 and there's no "platoon" strategy for your goalies under the team strategy menu. That's such an easy fix. You should also be allowed to customize minutes and ice time. Like percentages. If I want to roll 3 relatively equal lines, I should be allowed to do that. Also nobody ever develops on the third line lol. It's bizarre.

Also the player growth and the draft system make me sad. It's impossible to get any kind of talent past round 3, essentially. Which is so not the case in real life, obviously. I'd like to see a little less predictability in goalies. It seems like if you just draft a goalie in the top 10, there's your starter for the next 20 years. I'd like to see high potential, low probability guys in the later rounds so I can draft a Henrik Lundqvist or Jason Demers or Pavel Datsyuk or something.

If they could get the media involved, that'd be fantastic. Like have newspapers and headlines and stuff pertaining to how the local team is doing. That'd really help bring it to life. I dunno lol.

I thought there was a way to do this with sliders in the strategy section.

Everything else you said is right on, though, especially about platooning goalies. I mean, come on, goalies starting 82 games is ridiculous.

I agree 100% with the scouting system, and they do need to add more leagues but not that many. I would say just add the KHL, MHL, ECHL, USHL, NAHL and the 2nd tier leagues from Sweden, Finland and Czech.

The way I see it, they aren't allowed to use real French players (for example) on team France. Except for Huet who has played NHL games.

I love this game to death, definately the best hockey game ever made, and it's the only video game that I play now. Although great this game definately has it's flaws.

I have the PS3 version of NHL13 and I think the XBox version blows the PS3 version out of the water.
The simulation when in GM mode or season is brutally slow for the PS3. It takes about a minute to simulate to your next game on the PS3, even if there are no games on the day it still takes forever to simulate. To simulate a full season to get to the playoffs can take up to 30 to 40 minutes. While Xbox takes seconds to simulate each game.

The Xbox version I feel like I have complete control of my team and it's players. I press the button and the player does exactly what I want him to do, and at the right timing. While the PS3 NHL13 I have a real problem switching players quick enough, it feels like all the controls are one second behind. Makes it awfully hard to poke check or line up a big hit when the switch players option is so delayed on PS3. On PS3 I don't feel like I have full controll of the game.

I'm probably switching to the new Xbox when the new NHL14 comes out.

A few annoying game play features are,

When your down by a goal and you pulled your goalie and you switch to full attack mode. Your players don't attack the opposing teams player who has the puck, instead they sit back and wait. It's almost impossible to get two guys pressuring that player with the puck because they are in retreat mode. The computer usually keeps passing the puck back to the last defender to eat up the remaining seconds of the game, while I have a hard time getting forwards there to even pressure them for the puck. I wish the players would do what you wanted them to do, rather than doing their own thing.

Passing is great, and so were the one timers. The one timers this year pretty much have been eliminated unless the pass is perfect, but if I am on a 2 on 0 I fully expect the pass to be great and my player to finish the one timer. I find way too often even all alone the players f***up on the one timer. The pass is either way too hard for the player to control, or way too soft where it gets intercepted. There are a lot of wrong player passing too. There will be a player wide open and for whatever reason your passing it to a completely different player you were'nt intending to.

Injuries happen was too frequently. I can have up to 3 guys injured in one game. I love injuries but it happens as often as scoring a goal.

GM mode sucks. Although my favorite mode in the game, the scouting sucks and so do the next generation of superstars. Nugent Hopkins, Yakupov and Mackinnen never reach there full out potential. They still suck a number years after, I really hope NHL14 really focuses in on these very weak areas.

Xbox is the system to have for this game, NHL13 on Xbox is just a lot more realistic and way better. I can actually pull off good onetimers, and make good passes to the player that I intended to. Just much smoother gameplay and nothing seems to be delayed, not even the simulation.

Personally, if they made NHL 14's Be a GM/Franchise just a bit like NCAA's Franchise mode, I'd be happy.

I'd like to see a bit more presentation really. Some more depth in Be a Pro too.

I thought Madden had it right with Be a Player.

Like I said a while back, they should change some players attributes such as shot release/quickness, elusiveness, back hand shot/accuracy, etc. But I've never played goalie though. Any suggestions.

Side note, I wonder how the new CBA will affect how EA makes their next game. For the love of god, get it right this time. What I mean is contract extensions, amnesty buyouts from what i've heard, waivers, etc

I loved Hughson back then, he should be brought back. Maybe not the best voice in the business but it's hard to get tired of it.

Please keep Doc away. The last thing I want to hear is DRIIIVE every time a player gets the puck close to the net.

If EA actually peeked into this thread, or any other thread made by fans of the game, they would realize that making changes to stuff like GM mode would make most fans much happier than wasting all their time on 'new' AI that is just as easy to exploit as every other time they do 'new' AI.

Would probably be much easier and cheaper to do that too, as it really doesn't take near as much programming power to change the way a menu-based game mode works, rather than changing AI in live gameplay.

However, next year EA will throw out the exact same game with new rosters and a couple tiny little gameplay adjustments that they will claim to make the game incredibly more immersive, but will really just be more of the same. It's such a shame that I love gaming and I love hockey, which basically forces me to buy this game as it's the only one on the market.

I know a lot of these have been mentioned, but here are what I'd wish for, at least for the time being

-USHL and possibly even NCAA, but the NCAA license would have to mean jersey numbers instead of players names
-KHL
-More variety in commentary, possibly even offering different languages for commentary similar to FIFA. I'm getting tired of hearing Gary Thorne comment on our aggressive our forecheck is every game
-IIHF license, but that's highly unlikely knowing the IIHF, as it could have so much potential. Though if you can't get the real national team jerseys, you still could make them similar (ala NHL 2001 and 2004).

Also, just a small note, NHL 94 and NHL 2004 were classics, could EA keep up their level of NHL games that end in "4" with this one?:laugh::laugh:;):p:
