[post=89849119]Final stats for last season[/post]

1-5 with 38 goals against before tonight. Hard to win when you allow 6 a night.

Yupp.

Also Burke and Hill have historically been better statistically than what's happening now. Maybe it's just Burke in a big slump?

Obviously the team was going to be worse this year than last, but this much worse was not predictable.

Actually surprised to see the Raiders riding a less than 100 PDO (obviously 5 games isn't a great sample size though). I knew they'd be better this year than they were last year, but they've come out to a very good start and I thought some of that was luck based. Maybe not.

PA's Fenwick is also 2nd best in the league.

I'm hoping for Morrissey's sake this isn't just a result of a small sample size and Prince Albert really kicks some ass this year.

PA hasn't played any good teams yet, Saskatoon 2 times,Regina 2 times and Moose Jaw 1 time. Even with Morrissey and Draisaitl I don't think they are a good team.

As for leagues, the WHL is the best developmental in the world not named the AHL. I can't think of a player that went back to the league as a 19 year old and did not benefit from it. I think it would be pretty hard to prove that a player wouldn't do well after anyway.

Comrie made 43 saves to beat PA 4-1

Morissey no points even +/- 7SOG

The forgotten Jets prospect in goal:

http://www.troyrecord.com/sports/20141008/kasdorf-eager-to-pick-up-where-he-left-off

People rarely include Kasdorf these days when discussing the Jets future in goal. He is actually one hell of a goalie; hopefully he can rebound from the shoulder surgery and get back to his previous form.

He was 12-2-2 in ECACH games, stopped an amazing 94.5 percent of the shots he faced and allowed just 1.39 goals per 6 minutes.

Hopefully that's just a typo. :sarcasm:

Does Kasdorf have any risk of injuring his shoulder more easily now or is it good as new?

Shoulders are never as good as new. Always wear down more easily more they are injured. However for goaltenders it is usually less of a concern. Dan Blackburn did have to retire at ~20 years old due to shoulder injury though (after making NHL as a teenager).

Blackburn had nerve damage there IIRC, couldn't supinate his arm while lifting it. That makes it basically impossible to stop shots with your glove.

If it's just muscle-related, then you're right, not a big deal for a goalie. I'd imagine shoulder problems are troublesome for skaters mainly due to it affecting your shot, correct?

I played with a guy who kept dislocating his shoulder even after having surgery. If he took a hard hit straight on, it would dislocate.

I'd say that's the worst part for the shoulders, the physical play.
