Who else would backup, nobody else is healthy. Leafs have 7 goalies under contract and only 2 are healthy right now.
Yea any team would be throwing out a Hutch level goalie at that point. Even Florida and Tampa with Gibson and Lagace.

Yes Campbell needs to come back and play well but even average goaltending would be a huge improvement over what we have seen lately.

Very unfortunate. Worried about him. Even if he makes it back for playoffs....with his history and his style of play..I fear it wouldn't be more than game 1 or 2 of the series before he went down again. I think most of us have come to love his heart and his motor, but he seems to put himself in vulnerable situations quite often with no regard for his safety. He gets hit quite a bit in a game. His last injury was definitely flukey, but I fear playoffs wouldn't be kind to him, or his long-term health

Yep. Gets hit hard too often.

This isn't a "4 point game" like we just had against Florida & Boston. This is a team that plays us very physical, and isn't a threat to embarrass our fourth line like Florida did. So that said, I think this is the game you see what a 4th line of Clifford-Blackwell-Simmonds can do. Besides making us tougher, you hope they can just be an energy line and check hard and keep the shifts short. Swap out one of Clifford or Simmonds for Abruzzese for the Saturday game. Think we're gonna need some muscle in tonight though.

Clifford should stay in. Simmonds will probably be useless again though.

I feel the same way. Very likeable player, really liked what he brought to the team

But these concussions will catch up to him. If I were the Leafs, I would force him to sit for his own sake

I don't remember a player having 5 concussions and came back playing a long career'
But then again, players back in the 70s, 80s probably played with a lot concussions and didn't even know what it was

I liked what Clifford brought to that game for about 10 mins. He can skate and willing to hit
Unless he was told to stand down, he should have pummled somebody in Boston

To me Simmonds has a business to care of. He was given a BS 10 min major last game. I suspect if he plays he'll get the same this game

But we do need someone to remind Dubois who he is, who he's not

Exactly this. I hope every Leaf remembers him trying to ragdoll Matty. Little 3rd tier puke needs to be reminded of his place, and exactly how far down the rung he is. Him and Pionk need to be pounded regularly. F** the Jets.

Its a completely gettable game, even with all the injuries. Why do I have a feeling it will be a tough one?

Psssst......Kyle.

How about offering Douglas a PTO for tonight's game? Something about turning Logan Stanley into a Stanley Steamer.

Just saying.....
