Don’t have the time for a full preview but thought I’d share some thoughts on both games today:

Montreal at Toronto
So, I actually think these teams are closer than most believe. Toronto is good, but are they all-time great? I don’t think so. Let it be known that some guy on Reddit crunched the numbers and the Argos had historically the easiest schedule since the league moved to an 18-game season. Yes, they contributed to that themselves by beating basically everyone they played. Yes, they won the games they played. Yes, they look great. But the TSN hype machine that spent all season hyping up Chad Kelly as the MOP when objectively he wasn’t even the best QB, also spent time hyping up the Argos as better than they are, IMO.

But anyway, I still like Toronto in this game. The Als are coming in on a six-game (I think) win streak and I like their D, but Toronto matches up with them. First of all, Montreal is starting Fajardo. One of the worst QBs in the league at reading a D, and he has a penchant for backbreaking turnovers, and the Argos are a very opportunistic D that will capitalize on that.

Ultimately, I think Montreal will keep it close but Toronto has the talent to withstand a poor Kelly game whereas Montreal will need Fajardo to be perfect to win …. And I don’t think he has that on him.

BC at Winnipeg

We all know the story here. The key for the Bombers will be Brady against BC’s run D. The Lions’ DTs aren’t good at stopping the run, and their down to their third-string MLB so Brady could have a big game. But the Schoen loss and Demski/Bailey either not playing or not entirely healthy will have a big impact on this offence. Lawler will need to have a big game, and I’m hopeful someone like Drew Wolitarsky will step up. It’s even more important that we don’t let BC to get up early and force us away from the run (like we did in BC this year).

The Bombers secondary is gonna have a tough time containing the Lions receivers and their big play offence, and VAJ will probably burn us a few times. We need to control the trenches and chew up clock with Brady and the offence and keep VAJ on the sidelines as much as possible. VAJ probably has the lowest football IQ out of any starting QB a part from Fajardo so we’ll have to give different looks including blitzes and fake blitzes to confuse him. If we rush only four, get no pressure, and play our soft zone, VAJ will pick a part this defence.

I’m hopeful the crowd can help rattle VAJ because when he’s bad, he’s REALLY bad. The weather is mild but it still won’t be ideal for a dome team.

Go Blue!

ANOTHER Montreal 3rd down stuff, this one was only 3rd and less than a yard.

This is shaping up to be an interesting game!

Edit: though Montreal's offense really is struggling...

I’d feel more confident in Montreal’s ability to pull this one if it wasn’t Cody f***ing Fajardo behind the reins

This makes me worried for the West game. You just never know in this league. Hopefully the Bombers are on their game
