Sure did.

Ritchie Hall too, blew it.
Richie Hall’s zone coverage is awful, and he sure didn’t do much to help his case today. The deterioration of his players isn’t helping but IMO he’s always relied more on his players bailing him out with big plays and talent.

But whatever, the D tightened in the second half and so I tip my hat (and thank VA as well).

Brandon Pasta with over 150 combined yards today on his march towards the league's MOP
Chatted with a Lions fan at the game who said “I was impressed with the Lions shutting down the best RB in the league” which feels both wrong and right at the same time

I hope some lessons were learned tonight about negativity….
Never!

I was at the game tonight.....still can't believe what I saw....it was sheer madness....complete and total insanity.

i will need time to process this....but I will say this....there were some ANGRY Lions fans after the game.
And some happy Bombers fans! We sure chose a doozie to come to, hey? I don't know if I've ever high fived so many strangers at a sporting event before.

Never!

Your so right, haven't done that since the Olympics.

Never!

Sooooo good to have a bye after a game like this.

The anguish in the crowd when it ended.....just stream of consciousness here boys....can't help myself.
My section was FULL of Bombers fans. It was just full of excitement at the end, I didn't see too many upset Lions fans.

Also have to give the BC fans props for a great game and experience. I've now done both Saskatchewan and BC Bombers road games and both times I was met with nothing but classy people. Maybe a bad apple here or there (although honestly I encountered none tonight) but overall everyone was fun and great.

CFL fans seem to mostly get along haha. Much better than some of the crap you hear happening to rival fans at NFL games.

Only got back in time for the 2nd half, and due to our internet situation couldn't post here. @LadyJet26 seems like the only one who remembered that a CFL game isn't over until its over... My friends, why panic in the freaking first quarter?? It's not like we have Boltus or Quinn as our QB's, or a Mike Kelly coach...

I guess I missed the bad Defense of the 1st half, but the D was pretty much perfect in the 2nd half; only 1 FG, and did BC even get a 1st down until the final play? (that could have won the game for BC if the receiver was a bit more aware of the clock... Guess you can't blame a guy for wanting the TD... good effort by our D to catch him).

I will forever be haunted by the Khari Jones' comeback when they scored 3 TD's in the last 3 minutes of the game to win... I was at the game, but in the parking lot hearing the cannon go off... Again and again and again. Never again will I panic/give up before the 3 minute warning...

Gotta love the CFL!

This team isn't as good as past years, but a weekly reminder that neither is any other team this year. We have a very good chance of going all the way. Go Blue!

The offence was actually pretty good all game they just kept f***ing up in the red zone I honestly don’t know if the defence got a stop in the 1st half

Going to the game tonight. Wade Miller is carving turkey for us Bomber fans between 5 and 6 at the Plaza of Nations.
GO BLUE !!

Wade is a beauty. Never misses an opportunity to promote even out in Van City. Dude has totally rebuilt the culture/brand one Turkey leg at a time! Most guys in his role would assume success on the field with multiple Championships is enough and they would either leave it to marketing department or it wouldn’t happen.

Not Wade though, he is constantly promoting the Bombers and selling the CFL and of course he’s there to serve up Turkey to Bomber fans who made the trip or live in BC now. Relentless drive and he gets that the Bomber experience is about way more than just a football game.

I will be in attendance. The doom and gloom got to me a bit earlier this week and I'm not overly confident in a win, but if we play like how we can we can take this.

f***ing hell. Not our game

Horrible defence. Abysmal

Richie Hall's zone getting abused again

And that's the game I think. Defence didn't bother showing up.

That's not even on the f***ing shitass zone. Rose just got beat. Pretty frustrating start.

Yup. If they get points here I don't think a comeback is likely

Getting carved by a bottom tier QB

Just one of those nights. Miscues on offence and the defence not even showing up

Absolutely pitiful start for the defence. Offence has been good, but making too many dumb mistakes.

They did not.

Richie Hall needs to go

Yeah, this feels like a blowout. The defence has, what, one stop?

That's the game. Collaros again

If BC wasn't so bad, we're getting blown out tonight, I was positive last week but pretty disappointed with this effort

This team doesn't deserve first. BC came out roaring, we've largely played like shit all game. I really thought they'd come out ready, but not at all

I wonder what the turnover rate will be on both lines this off-season

Lol. What a dumbass

I wish I knew how to do a poll here it would read:

Snowkidden intervention friends don’t let friends ideas:

A) no posting until after the game.

B) Bombers sponsored or Crowd funded all expense paid trip for Snowkiddin and @sipowicz to “ Tony Robbins date with Destiny Tour 2023” (sorry Sip I know you didn’t post tonight but think of this as a lifetime achievement award)

C) HFBoards charges $200 an hour or $50 a post for group therapy rates to Snowkidden for venting if he posts during the game.

D) An intimate date with Snowkidden and the Bomber defence reviewing his posting history in person. A chance for SK to share his thoughts face to face in an open forum to let the boys and Ritchie know how much they suck. (Warning no cell phones, security cameras, or Grey Cup rings will be allowed in the venue)

E) all the above

Ok just having fun. How the hell did you post 73 times while at the game?

Just checking the game stats and Oliveira only had 73 rushing yards?!?! It honestly felt like he had over 200, he looked damn near unstoppable when it got down to crunch time. What a performance by him and the O line, at least as far as run blocking is concerned. WOW.
85 receiving as well. Bailed out Zach with a couple circus catches. Clutch in pass blocking as well. It may have been Oliveira's best game of the year, despite the pedestrian rushing number. The only play Oliveira didn't make was on 2nd and 4 with 30 seconds left in the first half that led to a BC FG, but he didn't get any help on that one.

Yeah, the receiving yards weren't lost on me but his rushes were for such big gains I figured he had certainly cracked 100 yards... it came as a shock to me when I saw he didn't. Either way though, it was a game for the ages by 20. He has blown away all expectations... and to think that a year and a half ago there were doubts as to whether he had what it took to be the number one guy.

Life's been busy so I haven't had time to put together game thoughts as often. That'll continue here, but this was the first game where I actually felt pressure. Back in the day (pre-2019) I was on the edge of my seat every game. Every game felt like a Grey Cup game cause every game seemed to matter so much. Since the Grey Cups, since thus group has earned my trust, I've just been sitting back and enjoying the ride. Labour Day/Banjo Bowl have been FUN more than stressful, just having the confidence in this group. The playoffs have been tense of course, but regular season has been fun since you just knew the Bombers would win enough to lock it down. But this, this was a playoff game. The tension was there. You could feel it. Both teams could feel it. And the Bombers rose to the occasion again. This group doesn't have that many years left, we've started to see the cracks. But they proved tonight that this team ain't done yet.

The Grey Cup runs through WPG until the Bombers say otherwise.

Not by me, but certainly from some. I famously said early in 2022 that Oliveira and Augustine were both top 5 RBs in the CFL in terms of talent. It looks like we'll never actually know if Augustine could have been a starting RB in the CFL thanks to being behind what looks to be two potential Hall of Fame Canadian RBs in Andrew Harris and Brady Oliveira, so I was definitely half right at least haha.

It took him awhile in 2022 to adjust to the starting role. You could tell in early 2022 he was trying to do everything every play. He wanted to win the Grey Cup on every touch. Trying to be 100% perfect on every run ended up resulting in indecision and a hesitancy to just take what he could get. He started to figure out that he just needed to attack the holes on the D, put his head down and attack. The talent has always been there just needed his head to catch up. Which thankfully it did. He's still only 26 yo. Not sure he'll have Andrew Harris longetivity, but he's certainly got 3-4 more good solid years left in him.

Honestly right now with Zachs turnover troubles I think Oliveira should be the CFL West MOP candidate. CFL is going to gift the MOP to Chad Kelly, that's nearly a given, but IMO, Oliveira should be the winner.

Lots of commercials lol

correctly, it runs thru toronto until someone takes it away from them!...lol

Just hearing the crowd reactions you could tell there were a lot of bomber fans.

Against Calgary, right?

We were camping with my uncle in Ontario when that happened - my dad and him broke out the tinfoil on the car radio antanna to get reception of cjob - I never watched that game until years later when I found a download of the fourth quarter from somewhere, lol

8 catches for 85 yards is why you think he had a better game rushing.

Insane average for a running back.

IMO Oliveira is the league's MOP at the moment, not just for his record-climbing numbers this year but he's been absolutely phenomenal picking up blitzes as the offensive line has not been as good as previous years.

BC played way too conservative in the second half and allowed Bombers to storm back even with all their self-inflicted errors with Collaros playing a tad too much hero-ball at points with some of the throws he was forcing and fumbles. Good teams take advantage of that though, so props to the team for willing it out.

As I've said many times before, I thought the only way WPG would get back to the Grey Cup this year was through having a bye week and home field advantage, so getting this win was crucial - now need to stay mentally focused the last two games to lock it in: EDM is playing for pride and CGY might still be able to sneak in depending on whatever goes on with SSK for 3rd place in the West.

I'd pick Brady as my MOP - should be Kelly, but it's MOP not MVP.
