Yes I agree. One of my favorites. He may be one of the best defenseman in the league in a couple of years. Not even going to consider moving him. The entire 08 group are worth the price of admission.
Also wondering out loud if Brocklehurst gets in for a few games if Beltchz is out for a bit. Games now don't count until after the WJT is over.
Very good point, may be a good time to dress another 08’ if Belchetz is out. We need a collapse to lose the division, one players not gonna do it. I say suit up a 16yo and see how they do. We’ll need em next year, familiarize them with the team and the league a bit. Get them some experience, give them some advice then send em back when Belchetz is ready.

Interesting enough, Winner of London/Kitchener today takes control of the division. Not sure why I thought London was running away a bit.

If I heard last nights broadcast correctly…
Belchetz Out - Thumb, No timeline
Outwater Out - Shoulder, about A Week
Froggett Out - Knee, A few Weeks

That's along the lines of what I heard with Froggett. Outwater would be good news; last I heard he was scheduled to get it looked at on Saturday. Belchetz, hoping for the best.
think Martin has the second best OA potential on the team right now. Not that we should keep him, but if you’re an 04’ or 05’ not named Joey Costanzo or Tnais Mathurin, I have to image the phones are open.

Martin has an outside shot of being an OA, at least to start. He has speed and some offensive ability, plus he has that intimidation factor as long as he doesn't take stupid penalties. Last night, he tried to defend teammates a couple of times, but was able to stay out of the box. If he can keep that going, he has a shot.
do we have any 07’s that may be worthy of a call up to fill 4th line minutes with Gaymes.

Julian Gignac is an outside chance. He has 26 points in 27 games with LaSalle and showed well in camp. At the time, making the jump from Jr C to the OHL was unlikely. However, if push came to shove, I can see him being a name that pops up. Also, I'd like to see Bowler sign Easton Pace. He's played two games in the USHL and is an NCAA commit, but he had solid points for LC last season.

Martin shouldn't be brought back.

With the issue with Froggett do we think they will shop for another goalie or wear out Joey and use the B goalies as backup?

I don't think there's an easy answer. On Thursday, you go with Windbiel and then enter the holiday break with a chance to step back and breathe. They'll have 10ish days to figure something out before they head up to the Soo.

If you bring someone in via trade, what do you do when Froggett returns? If you use Windbiel or Newlove, do they go back down once Froggett is healthy?

So heres a name that came back up. Konner Smith. Info says hes looking to play here…. Yea he doesnt have the time we want but he’d help right now. Pretty quiet but thats BB.

He's a name I've heard popping up, too. They'd have to deal an OA to get him (likely Abraham), but he fits the bill almost perfectly... except for that whole "back next season" thing.

Not sure about Brocklehurst and his availability as he has missed La Salle's last 3 games, don't know if it's been due to illness or injury.

I think forward Julian Gignac who is leading the Vipers in scoring, also has 7G,4A in his last 7 games will be signed and given a look as we approach Christmas and beyond, he is an 07 and a 1st cousin to Spits forward Noah Morneau.
Can also see forwards Jak Thiessen an 06 winger in La Salle a free agent given a look,Alec Stewart a 19 year old forward who has played well down there since coming back from injury and winger Kyle Morgan a 19 year old winger playing for another team in the same league as the Vipers 10G,10A in 20 games.

broken arm ....slash
That's very unfortunate he was having a great season down there and he doesn't turn 16 till Dec 30.

Myself I would go with Joey on Thursday between the pipes, seeing as if doesn't play it will be 2 weeks exactly between games as Windsor plays at the Sault Saturday Dec 28
I like Windbiel but prefer the best chance to go on the holidays with a win is with Joey.

I meant you use Windbiel as a backup on Thursday... though, I'm not against him starting, either.

I get it that this is your bit. Offensive ability?? 11 goals in 97 career games. He's had 4-5 suspensions in his career. If you want to make a run and you even entertain the thought of him being an OA you're an unserious team. This team stands to lose Abraham and Morneau two top 6 guys and you want Martin as an OA?

I know most agree to move Abraham as do I, but we do have limited playmakers currently. Lemieux was drafted as a center. We need to move current D to improve that position. Gaining D af the expense of forwards just means guys like Manzo and Hicks would sit more often. All of our D are already on A cards

Joey Thursday for sure. Decide if you want Windbiel or Newlove over the break, give one of them a start in the Soo and then another start against Guelph Jan 2nd. After that, hopefully Froggett’s better and back.

Trading for a goalie makes zero sense. We’re just gonna have to rough it with one of our younger goalies. Unless Froggett’s out for the year, which doesn’t sound like the case.
