Gotta think if Newlove continues to keep up his play and NHL attention that some NCAA teams will come calling with the new rule changes.

Interesting you bring up Newlove and his fine play in Georgetown, Windbiel in La Salle is playing very well too
Take a look at these 2 guys numbers
For the record Newlove has played 19 games record of 9-5--2--2,goals against average of .257 and a save percentage of .928.
However in his last 5 starts,he is 5-0,allowed 11 goals ,goals against average 2.15 and save percentage of .947.
Windbiel, for La Salle noting he is 16 years old has played 11 games, 2.62 average and save per centage of .920.
However in his last 5 games he has allowed only 5 goals,1 shutout record of 4-1, lost a 1-0 game last night and has a save per centage of .962 in those 5 games.
Windsor certainly interesting situation with 2 outstanding prospects in goal,as well they also have 16 year old Cameron Ingram prospect drafted in same draft as Windbiel,5 games played for Halton U18 team and his
average is 2.01.

Nice to see Windsor end a 2 game losing streak yesterday with their 4-1 win over Peterborough.
Josef Eichler notches the winner in the 3rd and what is notable about that is he is among 10 Spits who have scored a game winner this season, and interesting is Walton has 2 goals on the season and both are game winners,Martin has 1 goal this year and that's a game winner, ditto Eichler his 1st this season last night a game winner, and rookie Ethan Garden the only 16 year old rookie who has a game winner 1 of his 2 goals so far this season.
Spits with a record of 13-4-1 so far this season, and no game winners from Abraham, Greentree and Christoforo, puzzling but shows the depth on this team.
Should note Nesbitt leads with 3 and last year he didn't have any in his rookie year.
Was encouraged by the play of goalie Carter Froggett was not busy which is sometimes tougher, maintained his concentration throughout and made the saves he needed to make.
After last night his average is now 3.73 nice to see under 4,looks to be gaining coaches confidence.
Defensive wise last night Windsor only allowed 4 scoring chances for Peterborough according to Walter's,that was an improvement over the last 2 or 3 games, though the PP struggled which I guarantee will be worked on prior to this coming weeks 3 game road trip up north.
Will be good to see Belchetz, Lemieux and Hicks in the lineup this week, adds to the teams depth, will be interesting to see who sits to start in their place.

Interesting to note Windsor has now played 18 games so far,1 game past the quarter mark of the schedule and Windsor only has 4 players who have played all 18 games, Morneau, Nesbitt, Eichler and Walton are the only ones.
Actually London is in the boat only 4 of their players have played their schedule to date.
Comparison wise Kitchener and Erie have 9 guys who have played all of their teams games, while Saginaw has 11.

Not dressed for Windsor are Manzo, Winegard and Gaymes as Lemieux, Belchetz and Hicks come back in.
Belchetz starting with Greentree and Protas.

If Windsor was smart at all they would stay away from the extra stuff after the whistle with this lead
Good leadership needed.

I wasn't a huge fan of the defence-first approach in the third, but Joey did his thing and they found a way. I wish they would learn to step on the gas a bit and play that style through all 60 but, if this worked, it worked.

Ya it looked like Stan's old North Bay approach. No fun to watch and not for the faint of heart.

At least they win the first game on the North Pole trip. Always a tough roadie.

It wasn't just the 3rd period...

From an off-ice POV, the trip is incredibly fun. I've done it a few times and enjoyed almost every second of it (had phone issues in Sby long ago). The hockey can be stressful, regardless of how talented the Spitfires are, so take the points and run.

WINDSOR
Hicks is outstanding considering he is a 16 y old rookie D. We got lucky with a few soft goals on their starter. Joey played very well. Abraham was excellent until he took one of his classic foolish penalties late. Frankly it will burn this team when it counts and his rep with the refs is always on thin ice.

Nice to start a road trip with a win, great beginning vs North Bay unlike the last time these 2 teams played each other in Windsor recently, Belchetz with a beauty welcome back,Hicks with his 1st in the O,played very well,Costanzo except for 1 goal allowed very solid as he gets back to winning a game,Abraham as mentioned above solid game but must stay away from dumb penalties, overall game consistently still a work in progress, learn from it and move on to the next game tonight in Sudbury.
Spits now tied for the league lead in points, love their record of 7-2-1 on the road, they are 7-2 at home to boot.
Lineup changes I would make would be Winegard and Gaymes in for Martin and Garden, not punishment related but more change things up,get everyone in during this trip,Froggett should start tonight back to Joey Sunday in the Sault.
10 different players picked up at least a point last night, game winner credited to Christoforo would have been Belchetz if North Bay hadn't scored their 3 goal of the game in the 3rd,11th player for Windsor this season to notch a winner.
Go Spits Go
