another thing to remember about willie, not only does he WANT to be here, he went on record saying he would take a team friendly deal if others would as well ... then auston promptly signed his big $ deal for short term ....

If he took a team friendly deal while the others took all they could, he would be a fool. If Matthews had taken a team friendly deal, and Nylander still took his current one. Then you could say, Talk is cheap.

Yep and Willy was paid significantly less on his last deal than the other two. For the back half of his deal he was underpaid by a solid 2-3M while Marner was overpaid by 1.5-2.5M for the majority of his deal. Funny how that worked out.

Personally, I'm not going to give him credit for something he didn't do. But I'm with you, Matthews is the leader of these losers.
