Matthews almost hit 70. Goalie equipment has gotten small. There's a lot of offensive talent in the League. Scoring is the highest it's been in decades. Can you see someone like Bedard or McKenna hitting the 75 goal mark?

I think it’s certainly possible but I think it’s one of those things where everything needs to go right. Matthews seems like the only legit threat right now. Maybe Bedard gets there eventually. I’d say probably more likely not than yes.

Probably not but someone could get off to a crazy enough start to give them a shot. Gotta have a ton of 2 and 3 goal games to get there. Maybe if teams let their stars go for all 2 minutes every PP.

If scoring stays fairly stable and doesn’t plummet, yes, I think it can be done at least once.

Doing will have less to do with talent than it will with staying healthy and feeling good. If I had to place a bet, it's on a high end player who plays in the east because they don't spend 70% of their life on a plane or in a hotel. I could see Matthews scoring 75 and having it be the least impactful 75 goal season of all time because the his salary makes it so that
you won't have more substantial contributions from lines 2-4. Balance wins in this league and Matthews creates imbalance.

I think we’re heading in that direction, as long as they keep the balance of the game tilted toward offense and don’t backslide into another era of .925 goalies.
