I like what the panel is saying. I've been in that Matthews position before where it feels like you're covering your guy, but the pass from behind the net somehow catches you by surprise (even though it shouldn't).

Why are you breaking up a top line that has been effective this entire time?

If you want to split Nylander and Tavares for a little bit, then fine, but it is not coming at the expense at the top line.

And you are putting Nylander and Tavares back together at some point.

Because in my opinion its better to have 2 good lines vs 1 great line. And in this case you should get 2 good lines and 1 ok line(Tavares line)

with this you have one of the big 4 out for around 40ish minutes. You also address the depth

Sure he had a good playoff and a really good first half of this season, but he gets paid to play hard for the full season not half. Tavares has been awful as well.
