Because his behavior is so ****ed up nowadays, he even managed to get benched by his KHL team SKA Saint Petersburg during playoffs. He can go rot in hell.

He's not on the team because he was awful in the later stages of last year's season....benched in the playoffs. He really sucked. But he's been awesome so far this year with Datsyuk. But too late, team has already been named.

This is the truth. To be honest, Kovalchuk won't be the difference between winning and losing for Russia. Radulov could've been a difference maker though.
