Why is it HF argues so much?

The main NHL board is ridiculous for arguing. I get people have their own opinions but sometimes it's just outlandish. Something can be so obvious, yet a couple people will still argue the opposite. I know common sense isn't that common but seriously some of the arguments are dumb
