Why have Sweden always had mediocre goalies compared to other nations?

Sweden is a small country, there is no way they can provide top players at every position.

Do they? For sure, No one comes close to Hasek but after that? Several Swedish Goalies is at least on par with Vokoun and better than Mrazek, Turek, Checkmanek, Pavelec etc. don't you think?

Finland might have a stronger case for amount of starters historically, but individually Lundqvist would be at least in the same tier as Rask/Kiprusoff/Rinne. Then there's Lehner, Markström, Salo and a couple of others who'd compare fairly to Lehtonen, Niemi, Bäckström.

Football is much bigger than Hockey in Sweden. Not sure the difference is that noticable in Finland, that plays a large part into it.
