Something I've noticed over the past couple years, especially at the world juniors. For example, they've worn their yellow for the entire round robin this year, where no other team has stuck to one uniform - the US has worn 3 different uniforms across 4 games.

Going through photo's of last years tournament they appeared not to wear blue for the entire duration, and on top of that I know they lost in the 2018 final to Canada wearing yellow. What gives? Does it have to do with the streak? Wouldn't conventional wisdom tell them that post round-robin they should wear blue because they don't have much luck in the medal round? Or this something they do at all levels & tournaments?

The yellow jersey is the standard jersey for most Swedish national teams in most sports while the blue ones are the backup jersey.

Yellow jerseys are very uncommon, so they can usually wear them every game. They only play blue if the home team plays with white jerseys or such.
This is the first thing that came to my mind too.

Yeah sometimes they have had to play in blue against Finland when we have played on white jerseys.

The reason is because the yellow jerseys are home and blue away whereas most other teams home jerseys work well with our home jersey.

Our blue jerseys only work with other teams away jerseys.

I like the blue better and think they should make it the home jersey.

I think both are really good looking to be honest. The yellow with three blue crowns strikes out as the most unique of all colour patterns in hockey, while the blue with yellow crowns looks really good as well. I can only give my condolences to those who like blue more and I understand, they're looking really good too.

I guess the complaint here is: "Why isn't Sweden playing more games in their equally good looking blue as in their yellow?". I agree, they're both really awesome looking. Sweden should play blue more though, they feel more ascertaining in their colour scheme.

I think they’ve used the blue jerseys more often in recent years than they did before, especially men.

You just need a split second to identify a fellow swede in yellow jersey, in a beer hall. Yellow is one of the signalling colors, so even you are over-the-top drunk, you find your drinking mates easily.
With blue jerseys, you may have to start shouting and stuff.

I've always hated the yellow jerseys, they're way too bright and just weird looking. Blue is our main color so that should be the home jersey. These look great:

I beg to difference that blue are our main colour the cross is yellow...

Why change the best jerseys in international hockey? Love the yellow!

I love how Tre Kronor have taken good care of their core look over the decades (that polar bear atrocity notwithstanding). It's the Original Six jersey of international hockey.
