Why does nobody talk about the state of Tampa's Defence?

All I really see are people talking about Tampa's got us beat on the backend. But they're going to be running three of Perbix, Bogosian, Cole and Fleury in the playoffs. Huge step down from McDonagh and Rutta, and that isn't really discussed.

Their metrics are worse than last season too: 18th in the league in xGA/60, 17th in scoring chances against per 60, 13th in corsi against/60, 14th in goals against/60. Hedman's individual numbers are low key kinda bad too.

By no means am I diminishing what Tampa has done or what Vasi can do in the playoffs, but I feel they're reputation as this defensive juggernaut is almost entirely driven by history rather than actuality.

We just got embarrassed by Vancouver and are regular beaten by bottom feeder teams. I'm more worried about our ability to show up on any given night. Tampa's defense could be the worst in the league, but that probably means they have a better chance of beating us given the Leafs record vs bottom 5 teams in the NHL.
