Canada has one more win though.

So why is Canada classified third instead of second ?

Actually, its a good point. Head to head is the 1st tie-breaker and it makes some ammount of sense, but shouldn't # of wins be more important?

Not really. I could easily bring up the point that Canada also has more losses.

This is an IIHF tournament, so we go by IIHF rules

First tie-breaker is Head-to-head
2nd tie-breaker is goal-differential

quite simple.

Although head-to-head is logical, I don't see why Switzerland's two ties should make up for the one less win they have.

Maybe it's time to shake up the hockey world and award 3 points for a win.
