ASP because it will annoy Habs fans who just see the last name "Hutson" and jump to Lane's defence out of habit.

In all seriousness, ASP but they're both great prospects.

Homer vote for ASP as I think he is better defensively and has shown more. Hutson is a year younger though and could easily have an explosive growth if he keeps building on his excellent WJC performance.

It’s obviously extremely early but Washington’s 2023 and 2024 drafts look really good so far.

If it's truly close you should take the guy a year younger and who won. Even if you take away Hutson's 5 assist game vs Germany his draft year WJC would be comparable to ASPs except he won and was the biggest reason his team won with big goals vs Canada and in the GMG.

If it’s close imo you take the guy who has proven more and play the higher value position.
SHL > NCAA
RHD > LHD

Winning is a team thing. If Sweden had Augustine the last two years they probably have back to back golds, not the US. Leonard was also MVP, not Hutson. Going by who wins you’ll essentially never take europeans over NA players considering the tournament is mostly won by Canada/US.

“Who won”. Hah. Winning the SHL is harder than winning a kids tournament, as well as being more comparable to a NHL season

Couldn't have been that hard for ASP he was the 12th leading scorer on the team last year

When you checked that, I bet you also saw that he won Defender of the Year that year? No? Hey, I’m not even that high on the kid (at least not like Detroit fans), but your arguments are lacking
