WJC is unpredictable, so it's more like a game of chance, than a prediction. And my answer is...

Take 6 teams. 1. Canada 2. USA 3. Russia 4. Sweden 5. Finland 6. Czech

Then go to this site and roll a dice. I did and got 6. So it's Czech. Pity, because I root for Russia of course. But you can't go against a dice.

absolutely, all the WJC will accomplish is letting us know who was the best team that day nothing more.

USA is probably my favorite at this point, their forward group will be insanely strong with guys like Brown, Keller, Roslovic, White, Fischer, Boeser. Their D doesn't look as good but both McAvoy and Jones should be able to eat a lot of minutes with Krys and Lindgren providing depth. Not sure about the goaltending but both Oettinger and Woll looks like solid options if they are selected. Russia is probably gonna have a strong team too with Samsonov, Kaprizov and Sergachyov leading the way. Those two teams are probably my early favorites. You can never count out Sweden or Canada though but looks like Sweden might miss Eriksson Ek in an already weak forward group and Canada will be missing a lot of good pieces too.

I don't say nothing for Finland's medal chances before the final team is announced in December.
But of course i expect very good tournament ( Better than 2010, 2012 and 2015) for our young lions.

Finland will be ridiculously good again if they get even 2 of Laine, Puljujarvi, Aho and Juolevi. Right now i wouldn't be shocked if they ended up with 3 of those 4.

If not, then Canada or USA.

As a Finn I'm very excited for this tourney.

Last year our defense outside of Juolevi was garbage, this year it should have ton of potential, so many options. But it's likely going to be very young and it will be interesting to watch how they play.

Forward group should be pretty well balanced.
