Who signs the bigger contract this summer: Rantanen or Marner?

I think it will be close. Some say Marner will get $13M per, I think Rantanen is not far off.

The cup and the perceived leadership tips it so that Rantanen will get more. Add his ability to play centre and Marner's inability to step up in the playoffs, lots of teams will see him as a shortcut to success.

It should be Rantanen, but it probably will be Marner who goes for the absolute max value he can get out of someone, while Rantanen at least stands a chance of taking a page out of MacKinnon's book and taking a little bit less than absolute max value to stay with the Avs.

If they both become ufas then Rantanen will definitely get a bit more, but if they sign with their current teams the leafs are more likely to overpay Marner

Not certain. Out in round 1 and he is useless again, change must happen. Fans have been screaming for years now.
