Who should I get on a jersey?

The wife and I were talking about what we would like for Christmas.

I, as always, said, "An Islanders' jersey"

"Who'd ya like on it?" she replied.

Here in lies the rub.

I was big on Hamonic last year. Solid player, left his heart on the ice after every shift, after every game. This year, so far at least, I'm less impressed than previous seasons.

Matt Martin. Same with Hamonic. Great in his role. Leaves his heart on the ice every shift. I admire him for that.

Bailey - he's an unsung hero in my opinion and I love that type of player.

Poulin - I was a goalie so I'm partial to goalies.

Nelson - I wore 29 during my playing days...so...but, too small of a sample size for me to want to get him on a jersey. I ran out and gotta Fichaud jersey with a #1 on it the day I found out he was going to wear #1. 'Nuff said.

Tavares - Too cliche

Clutterbuck - I love the pests of the game. I had #22 Lemiux Avs jersey.

So....your thoughts? Now, granted, I'm not going to go with the winner of this poll, but I'd like some input.

I've always been debating between Hamonic and Martin.

Wouldn't get a Poulin personally cause even though he's played well the last two games he is far from being locked on this team long term I still think they will try and get a better starter on open market this summer.

I'd probably go with Nelson he is one of the young guns coming up through the organization I think he is going to end as a solid quality player on this team for a while.

I was thinking Nelson too, but who knows he could be on the Red Wings soon as one of their many PPG players

Depends if your the soft sensitive type or not….the name on the back tells a lot about the wearer

You can always hold your head up high wearing#17…….what I have witnessed around the rink …the male gender wearing 17 were of the bigger stronger of nature………the females lots were babes…most filled out the front of their jersey nicely. I also see Garths son wears Martin also….kid picked a good sports role model to look up to in life. I attend Red Wings games monthly and have sold my Martin jersey more than once right off my back…..theres a pic out there someplace..during the playoffs in Windsor a bar had Matt Martin/Islanders night…30 plus #17's were around a barrel burning a Penguin Jersey…Fun times

Bull and Barrel raised 4000.00 for charity that night…….Since Martys nickname was "bull in the china shop" when he played for Sarnia…..the Bar had "ride the Bull night" …never seen so many women lined up to ride a mechanical bull with #17 decals…at 5 bucks a pop. for charity.

For myself, I'd go with a Tavares or a Bailey jersey. Big fans of both of them.

I'm in agreement with you about Bailey being an unsung hero for the team. Also something to consider is the length of contract. JT, Bailey, and Hamonic are locked up the longest out of anybody.

I'm wondering where the best place to purchase jerseys are. I know there's a thread for it somewhere, but I can't seem to find it (I'm probably blind). Because I'm looking to get a jersey as well. I don't need it to be a super deluxe authentic jersey, but if it could appear to be and have similar quality for a lower price because the stitching is slightly different that'd be cool. If anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it.
