Since Torterlla reminded the world this tournament why he shouldn't have an NHL coaching job, I'm assuming there will be a new coach representing Team USA at the next world hockey event.

Who replaces Tortella?

Looks like the pickings are slim though. I was unaware that USA had a very low amount of NHL caliber coaches. Here's a list of them:

Looks like the top choices to me are Mike Sullivan, Peter Laviolette, Jack Capuano, or even Lou Lamoriello.

Who do you think becomes the next team USA coach?

More importantly, who replaces the GM who filled this team with third liners?

Even if Kessel, Johnson, etc. went I don't see U.S. beating Canada anyway, especially in a best of three. Canada is just that much better than every team. Of course U.S. maybe puts up a better fight but the results would be the same.

Hopefully Sullivan. The style he uses in Pittsburgh would fit USA well.

The USA has the talent to beat Canada, don't kid yourself. They need competent people putting the team together who will pick the best players.

South Korea should have a much better team USA if they get their heads out of their *****... Kane, Kessel, Gaudreau, Matthews, Eichel, Larkin, Johnson (Tyler).. Playing a speed game under a coach like Mike Sullivan would suit them well. There's certainly potential to make a more competitive effort.

Easy to put the blame of the coaches and management. But guys like Kane, Pavelski, Quick, etc didn't even come close to doing their job. The team might be more competitive with different players but far from tournament favorites and likely still lose.

You know why Canada is so good? Because of depth. Elite depth, not gritty depth. They can roll 4 lines and score with any line. Who do you defend? Kane and Pavelski are shadowed, even double-teamed every shift because who are they gunna pass it to? Abdelkader? Backes? There's too few threats on the team.

The majority of the blame is definitely on the coaches and management. They did an absolutely awful job of constructing and coaching the roster.
